counting carbs

I have recently been put on Counting Carbs so now I have two types of insulin to inject. One throughout the day and one slow acting during the night. But trying to count the carbs for each meal is sometimes a nightmare. Probably not that bad, but it really does get to me and by the time I have worked it all out, I could have eaten my meal etc. ect. Whats does everyone else think to this?

Hey,

It can be a pain but I reckon once it's learnt it'll be second nature and not a problem. Sometimes gets annoying since you can't eat an impulsive meal etc, but once you've learnt the dose for foods you eat regularly it won't take too much calculating!

Also, I posted this on another thread recently, if you need any help with the counting it'll help!

You can also test yourself to see how much insulin you need per 10g of carbohydrate, it's very useful and something I only discovered on the web:

Hope this is helpful x
