What is the best fast food to eat?

I'd never eaten a Kebab in my life before catching the T2 diabetes. Now I try to have a Shish Kebab at least once a week (and I usually buy a spare one for lunch the day after). If you don't eat the pitta, I can't think of a healthier meal.

    Borofergie's contribution to Low-Carb cuisine

4.6% That's 4.8 mmol/l on average! Won't that be some sort of World Record?

Hey that's not fair! Some of my best friends aren't racists!

    Borofergie's contribution to Low-Carb cuisine

Thanks WJ - you're my low-carb cooking hero. I promise I'll try this one. Now that I'm off the (cream) wagon, where was your recipe for low-carb trifle?

    Incremental improvements in HbA1C

 What you talking about sterling? 7.5% to 6.3% is a phenomenal improvement. It's they type of improvement that might end up saving your toes and stopping your eyeballs from bleeding, and ultimately stop your heart from ticking. Trust the progress you see in your weight and your...

    Incremental improvements in HbA1C

Well mine went straight from 10.2% at diagnosis, to 5.6% at 3 months. I've subsequently reduced it to 4.9%, but I'd attribute that to weight-loss and to a gradual refinement of my control technique. I didn't even know what a carbohydrate was when I was diagnosed (I remember thinking that...

Where do you buy your testing strips from?

That's a great result. Maybe you should change the names to protect the innocent. As a Paleo man, I'm very attracted to a woman whose surname is "Bacon"

    WHAT TYPE OF BUTTER ?

How long to go Roy? I hope you'll tell us about your results. In someways "Paleo" is at the opposite end of the spectrum to "Veganism" (I eat alot of meat). However, lots of the sensibities are the same: both are about high-quality-whole-food. I learned alot from reading Scott Jurek's book...

    SPIRITUALITY AND DIABETES

Wow. I visited Auschwitz a few years ago with an Israeli friend of mine (whose relatives died there). It was in the middle of February, in 4ft of snow, and we were the only people on the Auschwitz B (the concentration camp). I'm not a spiritual person, but the whole experience was very moving...

    Borofergie's contribution to Low-Carb cuisine

Just the ticket when you've run 6 miles before breakfast (1200kcals)! That means that I can eat 2 on a 12 mile day! To be fair Sid, I wouldn't eat cornflakes.

    Borofergie's contribution to Low-Carb cuisine

I often read this forum with my head bowed in shame, because of all the clever low-carb cooking that goes on from WJ, wiflib, Defren and IanD (among others). I'd love to eat all of it, but I cook none of it (although Mrs Borofergie makes a wicked DCUK inspired aubergine lasagna). If she didn't...
