    Pumps and Belly's

Thanks for that, I'm using accu check tender links, the needle part is 13 mm , first pregnancy my son was 10.1lbs and I had a constantly hard belly so just wondering, at the stage when your belly becomes harder, where to put it! I canulate my hips also. Nikki

    Pumps and Belly's

Hi ladies, For anyone using a pump, where do you canulate? We will be thinking about our second child in the not to distant future but I injected when I was pregnant first time round. Just wondering when you get bigger where do you canulate? Thanks Nikki

    Verrucas

A podiatrist told me to put duck tap on mine, to suffocate it, but you still need to file it every day.

    Condensation

Thanks guys, I changed the insulin with the infusion lead attached and it's been fine. I was told to leave the insulin at room temp for abit before drawing it up as apparently it can get more air in it when it's cold??

    Condensation

I've just done it the way I was shown in the group session.... Only been on it 2 weeks so haven't had a major play with it, in a bit scared tbh lol

    Condensation

I work in a dental clinic so used the air blower to dry it out. I've had an afternoon of hypos following this leaking incident though, not sure how or if it is connected. I always check the tubes. I wonder if there was more insulin in the vile then I told the pump at my last cartridge...

Shower or antiseptic wipe before insertion?

My consult and DSN said aslong as there's no physical dirt and your not dirty ( like you have just been in the muddy field with the dog) then it should be ok just to insert without cleaning

    Hypos

All the hypos occurred just before meal times. So they lowered my basal and so far no hypos :-)

    Hypos

Hi guys, Been on a pump for 2 weeks now. Was having hypos 3 times a days so DSN reduced basal. Started averaging between 8-11 but started having many hypos again. Is it possible that it needs lowering again? It doesn't look like it's bolus related Thanks

    New to pump

I didn't know this. I didn't get to choose my pump, everyone in the group has the same. I know we are going to try different ones as the trial progresses. I also get escorted to blood tests. They lay me down etc. I'm having my first one on one Monday so will chat to her. We have the DSN and...

    New to pump

No, the first 2 days were group sessions, so we all canulated together and learnt how to use it etc. the rest of the trials are one on ones with my DSN. I'm very grateful I've been given the opportunity to trial a pump but feeling very indifferent about it. Wasn't expecting to feel this way.

    New to pump

Hi guys, I started my pump trial on Monday and so far I have accidentally pulled my canula out, fainted whilst trying to canulate put my canula in wrong and generally feeling very awkward and uncomfortable wearing it. Does this bit pass? Do you get used to it over time? I'm needle phobic...

    Scared

I've had CGM but only on loan. I did have growth scans but the obstetrician said it would be fine. I did say I had reduced movement but that was overlooked, that's another story though. All corrections made or routine changed hasn't helped so they want to try a pump. I haven't heard of many...

    Does any diabetics feel ..

I get this too, can't open things or grip well and I shake ( not a hypo shake). It makes me wonder if it's a nerve thing. Again it's not all the time Sent from the Diabetes Forum App
