    Scared

Hi all, I'm type 1 on injections, about to start a pump trial. I have a little boy 18months. Basically we would like to think about the possibility of baby number 2 but here is why we are scared. 1st pregnancy was great, insulin requirement was very high but sugars were always between 5 and...

    Pump Trial

I have no idea what kind of pump. My DSN said we will discuss that at our sessions before I get it. It's taking me a while to come round to the idea, consultant suggested it a few years ago but since the birth of my son (18mnths) I have had issues with insulin sensitivity. Thank you I will...

Did any of you type 1s have a virus before you got diabetes?

I am the only diabetic in my family, I was 12 when diagnosed after loosing masses of weight and being very ill. My diagnosis came after a year or so of constant flu and infections, the Dr said this could have been a factor, but I've never thought it was. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    wisdom teeth problems

Depends on the root formation of the teeth and if they are coming through on an angle, not everyone goes to hospital. It's not standard practice for people to anyway. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    wisdom teeth problems

Don't forget, when baby's are testing they can get a little viral/ unwell etc, sometimes people experience this with wisdom teeth, as you are cutting a tooth. Try a toothbrush called an interspace brush, it has a very small head on it making it easy to brush around the tooth :-) Sent from the...

I'm currently trying for a pump with the support of the diabetes team, been t1 for 17 years and have an issue with night hypos, I've just got CGM for a week, which I've waited a few months for, been on 2 courses. If your diabetes is well controlled with injections, there won't be a good reason...

    Type 1 and Dental Issues

Hi Victry, The 'book' says to wait half hour then brush as it takes half an hour for the ph in the saliva to go back to a safe level but I go back to bed straight away after a night hypo ( naughty I know) so I tend to rinse with a fluoride mouthwash before going back to bed, not as effective as...

    Type 1 and Dental Issues

I'm a dental nurse, the most common reason for decay is eating in between meals. Teeth can withstand 3 sugar attacks a day, this includes fruit and acidic items, so if your snack between meals is acidic or has some sort of sugar in it, including drinks, your risk of decay is higher, if you...
