FBG management. How to reduce it?

Thank you MrsA2 for that warning. I was also told by a Dr speaking at our local DUK support group that Gliclazade also causes weight gain. I felt a bit cross when I found that out when my previous GP visit was because of my concern about my weight gain.

FBG management. How to reduce it?

Hi EllieM! Thank you for your input, it's greatly appreciated. I know that the Alzheimer's has to be experienced to be believed how great the impact is on your own life/wellbeing. It is not good! Since being registered as my husband's carer, that has given me access to support from a local...

FBG management. How to reduce it?

Thank you for your questions, Brunneria. I have just been through and updated my personal details. I'm taking Gliclazade and Sitigliptin. No Metformin now. Although I still have 4 packets left over from when I used to take it. Edit: Sorry! I'm struggling to negotiate the site at the moment. I've...

FBG management. How to reduce it?

I think my biggest unknown is this: When I wake up with such high BG, how do I reduce it? Thank you for your considerate offer. You know best so I'll follow your guidance about threads. :)

FBG management. How to reduce it?

My BG control is currently very poor and, since breaking my ankle in January and my CABG procedure in July, I am really struggling. I've just checked my diary and in the last 3 weeks my fasting readings have been as high as 16.4 and the lowest only 10.7. Needless to say, I've been feeling pretty...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

It has been 10.6 for the last 4 days. Today I took it after a 1 hour aqua aerobics session and hoped it would be lower. Unfortunately not lower.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

10.7 this morning. HbAC1 in March was 64. Very confused about units now for this. Previously was IRO 48. Really struggling at moment to keep sugars down. Having a lot of outside stresses at the moment which are less than helpful. Also I'm finding 8WBSD stressful too.

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

11.6 That's why I'm worried and trying the 8 week Blood Sugar Diet. Was 12.8 when I started a week ago. Must admit it's hard work for me at the moment! HbAC1 was 64 just 2 weeks ago. Not good at all.

Thank you, LinsT for your encouragement - I certainly need it! Today I had lettuce leaf wrap with tomato and cheese. Then tonight an avocado with tinned tuna and a boiled egg. Right now I feel very full and not missing any sweet stuff. I know I must knuckle down and get myself sorted out! At the...

My plan is to eat meat, fish, eggs, cheese, nuts and full fat greek yoghurt. The rest will be made up from vegetables (mostly raw) leafy greens, mushrooms, carrots, beetroot. I know to keep root veg and fruit to a minimum. I need to read up more about protein turning into carbs, and carb...

Today my OH will be out until bedtime so I have the whole day to plan menus and exercise sessions (and therefore shopping lists etc at the same time) It's a new year and time for radical change. It's good that you have such a good HCP. I have a good relationship with my DN and I am able to talk...

Hi 4ratbags. I notice that some of you post lists of your stats over the years. I don't have my HBA1C markers but will ask for them next time I see DN. About the painful tendon - have you tried aqua aerobics? I can get to one session a week and it's great. I am looking for some other swimming...

Thank you Enclave. I think it's a question of trusting that eating the 'demon fats' which we've all been told to avoid like the plague for so long will do me more good in the long term. I will Google for a carbs list and plan my menu list again! Thank you for the positive post. (I've been...

I do have MFP so will go back to logging everything again! Just done today and only got 69 cals left if I want to keep under 500 for the day. Will probably reset the total amount - 500/day was for doing 5:2.

Thank you for the welcome! I did try 5:2 for a while but no where near as good as the running. I used to be the type who had to eat the moment I got up, and never ever felt full (I could eat Christmas dinner and eat it all again. - needles to say I didn't!) After running I felt full the rest of...

I've been looking at Diabetes.co.uk web site for some time. Once you're a member you receive all kinds of emails, tips etc. One of these was about LCHF which I've been considering for some time. Coincidently my DN and GP have been trying to help me out with the unpleasant side effects of...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Tried running (C25K) and found it worked wonders on controlling BS levels as well as appetite. I used never to feel full after eating but after running I did. Loved the effect it had on my well being. Until I crocked my Achilles tendon, put into plastic boot, now have a bad back too. Not sure of...

Type 2s: What have you eaten today?

One navel orange at lunchtime. After that my BS reading was 7.7. I am trying to keep carbs intake very low.
