    Alcohol and high BG levels

Stress and depression can alter blood glucose levels significantly, depending on the individual - so yes. :|

To Test or not to Test - that is the question.

Your levels seem pretty good so far. Try testing after every meal to see what your BG pattern is like. Recording food for a while may help you determine the effect that different foods have on.

Please help a confused mum ....

Oh wait now I see. He's too high to get the snack. Right. Sounds like the dawn phenomenon is having a lasting effect. DP is the result of the body releasing glucose to help you "start up" in the morning, unfortunately in diabetics it can cause sugar spikes. It may be that his morning injection...

Please help a confused mum ....

Re: 10am Spikes During the Honeymoon period it's not unreasonable to be relaxed about background insulin. Within a short period of time he'll probably be on it anyway. As for the existing problem, what kind of snack is he having?

Alternatively start to read up on it yourself. Check out things like kids guides (don't laugh, I'm serious - at the end of the day they'll be the simplest you'll get).

    GENERIC DRUGS

I get varying brands of my hayfever tablets and I've never once noticed a difference. Actually come to think of it, I found the generic loratadine more effective than branded desloratadine.
