    Pancreas Problems

Hello, not related to diabetes but is anyone here having symptoms of bad digestion? Especially fatty foods. Some pain after fatty foods eating. Bloating, gnawing, heartburn, dull ache. I also have fat malabsorption issue for 3-4 years. If I eat more fat, it comes out the other end tomorrow...

Exactly. Why would I have that problem. Low c-peptide + insulin resistance does not make sense. It is almost as if endo made a big mistake somewhere, either in writing or his conclusions. He did test antibodies though (3 of them) and they were negative.

It is weird those ranges. I converted them to ng/ml and according to various sources 221 pmol/l is below range. I have no idea where the sample was tested in, but if the letter says c-peptide is low, it must be low.

Sure, it is possible, but what bothers me is a conclusion of insulin resistance. How can one have insulin resistance with below range c peptide along with normal fasting?

    This is Getting Frustrating ...

Just dug up a letter from an endo, dating back 2017 December. My fasting BG at the time was 4.5 mmol/l. My c-peptide, however, was 221 pmol/l which was below normal range. He mentions me being insulin resistant. How can one have below range c-peptide and be insulin resistant? I thought low...

Thanks. Filled. I am afraid doctors will dismiss me as always because they are aware I am being treated of anxiety disorder. It is way better now. I don't panic seeing bigger numbers anymore. I know it will go down on its own. I am just bothered by me being aware of the rising BG. It makes me...

    This is Getting Frustrating ...

They do not indeed. I would not care that much if it would not make me feel unwell. I was told by multiple MDs that glucose going up will not make me feel those symptoms. So there must be something else happening. Note: blood pressure was normal as well when my BG was above 7.0

    This is Getting Frustrating ...

I do not see a diabetes team because I am not diagnosed as one. My A1c was normal (5.0%) in August 2018. My fasting is between 5-6 mmol/l. I usually don't see numbers close to 7 mmol/l ever. I know it because my body always, like today, tells me that my meal might have spiked the glucose, and it...

    This is Getting Frustrating ...

I sincerely believe there is something wrong with my body. For the last 1.5 years, I have been chasing my blood glucose levels. I was not diagnosed diabetic by an endo but I basically cannot eat carbs anymore because my BG spikes and makes me feel like ****. Today, was a day like that. Nothing...

    Reduce Insulin Resistance

I have felt lack of energy and had bad bowel movements on ketogenic diet. I feel better on 100g of carbs, mostly from beans, peas, carrots. I think it is worth it because I am much better on this diet than I did on ketogenic for a year. Quality of life is a high priority for me as well.

    Reduce Insulin Resistance

I do. My levels of anxiety have reduced significantly thanks to my excellent doctor. I worked with her for the last 8 months. My sleep is exponentially better, I don't have as many bad thoughts and tension is mostly gone from my body. I am just interested in improving my biomarkers mostly for...

    Reduce Insulin Resistance

Yeah, I have also noticed that my post meal spikes are lasting longer than it should. The doctor basically said, just like an endo last year, that it is insulin resistance, and I would see steady increase over the next 5-10 years into diabetic range without any interventions.

    Reduce Insulin Resistance

I have worked with a doctor to find out that I am not diabetic, but my A1c has been rising .2% each year. I am eating relatively low carb, around 100g a day of complex carbs, zero sugars. I am doing some running every other day. However, it seems this is not enough to guarantee the prevention...

    Non-diabetic with questions

They are not crazy, they are indeed normal, or at least when I measure. I am just not so sure about spikes eating carby foods - I feel like they are too high and it is masking some issue.

    Non-diabetic with questions

I did not get hba1c from endocrinologist. I do have 2 measurements after that in the last 1.5 year. 4.9 and 5.0 %. I mentioned above 0.68 which is below normal lower bound of 0.8. Yours was probably in pmol/l Overall, I don't know, I am thinking it has to do with stress as well. My glucose is...

    Non-diabetic with questions

Do you remember how low was yours? I was at 0.68 with lower bound 0.8 but fasting BG 4.5 mmol/l I found it really hard to believe it is insulin resistance because surely such low c peptide is the opposite one would expect. Yes, I figure demanding the GP to repeat the tests make sense. I am...

    Non-diabetic with questions

Hello, I have posted before thinking of having type 1 diabetes but it has been 1.5 year since being declared non-diabetic by an endocrinologist and my blood glucose can regulate itself. Tests he has done were: c-peptide (a bit below normal range), normal HbA1c and frusctosamine, abnormal glucose...

    |Blood Glucose Physiology

Yes, I have tendency to perfection as well. I read up on what could be and want that for myself. This includes: being smarter than I am, earning more than I currently do, and also being healthier than now. Being kind to myself is what I do not do. I tend to focus on black or white, and miss out...

    |Blood Glucose Physiology

I think there is a crucial difference: if insulin resistance is pathological, then keto will reduce it because less insulin = reduced resistance. However, if a person on a carby diet does not have pathological resistance (close to 0), then keto induces physiological resistance which is a lot...
