What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.7 this morning and 7.7 by lunch. More testing required but would appear during working days(more activity) i have gotten a lower need for bolus insulin and today doing sweet FA the BGL has risen slightly.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

FBG 6.0 and 6.1 by lunch ...abit more steady. Though I did cheat and had a few crackers because I was worried about dropping again.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

FBG 8.1 then a drop to 4.8 by lunch. Another 3mmol+ drop on an accurately carb counted breakfast. Ugh don’t really feel like doing another overnight basal test. Really need to invest in a half unit pen.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

FBG 8.2 this morning - glad i didn’t grumble as for some unknown reason i managed to drop 3.2mmol by lunch and would have been in hypo land if i was at my prefered 5-6. Breakfast carb count was hopefully super accurate as it was a breakfast bar and read straight off the label.

    Hypo Help

There are many factors that can influence insulin sensitivity and can actually lead to a reduction in insulin requirements. Some of the more common - weightloss, change in daily activity/exercise. Others report change in seasons and getting back in target range after a prolonged time travelling...

    Hypo Help

Definitely echo the above thoughts on checking Basal. Its always a pain in the proverbial when everything tracks nicely then the D throws you a curveball and need to adjust again. Though personally I don’t mind when that means my insulin requirements drop.

    Hypo Help

After you treated the first hypo with quick acting carbs (dextrose tabs) did you eat something with a longer acting carb ie an apple/slice of bread etc without dosing for it? Also were you very active that morning or anywhere in the 24 hours before?

    DAFNE course

Thank you @Smiler99 Day one was good apart from getting homework to do a bg test at 3:00am. It was nice to meet some people in the same boat. Useful information but i think its going to be abit of a balancing act between their principles and what my endo says and what i know from personal...
