Type 1s: What Is/was Your Blood Sugar This Evening And This Morning ?

Fell asleep at 8.3 woke up at 9.6 I've been super worried about going low whilst I'm asleep so I guess I'm running a little hot. Going to not correct my waking BG and see what it does through the rest of the morning. (Learning! *Thumbs up*)

    Can't sleep? Talk!

Yup! Always the way. I had a late dinner. And I changed my carb to insulin ratio so I have to wait till I level out before I sleep. Right now I'm too high but I'm not sure what I'll be in the next hour. Might plummet! So I'm sat up waiting and testing :)

AAaand I'm back! Waiting on my levels to normalise a bit. Wondering if anyone else is stuck being awake for a bit longer tonight?

What were/are your experiences of the 'Honeymoon' period coming to an end?

Most definitely! My sugars are much better today. I still peaked at 11 after my rather carb heavy lunch. I am going to pick up "Think Like a Pancreas" I'm hoping to get to sleep before 4AM tonight. Last night was not fun trying to balance things after dinner ^=^; We are most definitely all...

How do you correct for your delicious mistakes?

That's pretty cool ^=^ Fairly similar to what I've started doing. I was never taught how to correct, but I figured it out a little bit ago. It's helping me bring my levels back down to what they should be as I adjust for the fact that my honeymoon period seems to be ending. Still interested to...

How do you correct for your delicious mistakes?

So, we all make mistakes occasionally when trying to calculate our pre-meal doses right? Well, I was curious! When do you guys tend to test after you have eaten? And when you discover how high your BG is, how long do you wait to dose and how much do you tend to dose for correction?

Type 1s: What Is/was Your Blood Sugar This Evening And This Morning ?

Stayed up till 4 trying to stabilise my BG (too high early in the night, dropping too fast later on) Fell asleep just after 4 AM at 6.9 and woke up at 9.4 ^_^ So feeling pretty okay about how today is going. @slip That sucks ^^; I'm sure you'll get it back down soon enough~ @Natalie1974...

9.4, much better than yesterday but I was also up half of last night trying to fix a high and then trying to stop myself going low x.x

I'm well! Just waking up now (Decided to sleep in to make up for the lost hours. Yay for student life!) Tested in at 9.4, I guess I overate I tiny bit whilst trying to correct and be safe! I can guarantee I'll be back here pretty regularly.

    Can't sleep? Talk!

So, I'm stuck being awake for now whilst I try and stabalise my blood sugar. It kind of got me thinking. I know there are a lot of us that suffer from this and I thought it might be nice to have some place to hang out whilst it's happening! And so I made this thread! Anyone elses going low...

Thank you :) I'll have a look in the morning and probably contact the GPs office too. I think I'm due an appointment with the local nurse anyway. Been meaning to book it but I've been so busy with university.

I wouldn't even know who to phone I'm afraid. It was done by one of the services that stops by locally for a few weeks before heading off again. I guess I could try the hospital? Right now I'm trying to bring my BG back down. 14 after dinner. Taken it down 2 points to 12 since then by giving 4...

What were/are your experiences of the 'Honeymoon' period coming to an end?

@Cauliflower_rice & @Sibyl My levels seemed to come back down today. Woke up kind of high but after a couple of meals I was down at 5 for a good six hours! Then I had dinner and discovered that my dosages for meals are extremely off. I just took a reading and I'm up at 14.1 I'm assuming this...

I must admit it hasn't just been just once or twice my partner has found me sat in a pile of cereal bowls and wrappers after a low x.x Just... So hungry! Hopefully I get better at it.

That's super helpful x.x thank you! That's never actually been explained to me before. I was always just told to have something sweet and then something a little slow release and carby and then I should be fine. Thanks! ^=^ will probably try that the next time I go low.

Oof. I had my first one of those a few months ago. I got so scared. They said they would send me the results in a few weeks. As is usual for me, they never turned up so, I'm assuming that means all is well.

Erf. I can imagine night shift is not awful helpful for this sort of thing. I often find myself struggling on the early morning classes for uni because I live a little over an hour away so end up getting up super early. Having a hypo interrupt my ability to sleep on those nights is... Horrible...
