    Life and Other Insurance..

Hey all, As the sole breadwinner with 2 young kids, I've recently started to look into various forms of insurance/protection, because if for whatever reason I'm unable to work/pass away our life/my families life would literally flip upside down. Needless to say the quotes aren't the cheapest...

    Overnight hairloss??

Hi guys, I woke up today and I've noticed that some of the hair on my right leg has gone. It's strange, almost like a strip of it has been shaped off in the right of my right leg, from the bottom of my knee to my ankle. I'm a bit concerned, has anyone experienced anything like this before...

    Is it okay to sleep?

I think alcohol also inhibits your liver from releasing glucagon when low, so you lose a bit of a safety barrier there.

    Is it okay to sleep?

Set an alarm for 30 mins to an hour maybe. So you can wake up and check? It's rising? If it was dropping maybe you'd to wait before sleeping.

    moods and t1

If your bg is high, it's harder to control emotions sometimes. I think I manage it most of the time lol. I'm relatively easy going, so I just make sure I tell myself "your bg is a little high, take a deep breath".

    Needles

About every 3 days or so. After that they get pretty blunt which equals pain! I have better things to do than change needles every time..

    Type 1: Please help? Needlephobe!

I absolutely hate needles. Getting my hba1c tested takes all my courage! I've been T1 for 19 years, since I was 12. You know, I don't even think of my insulin pen as being an injection. The needle is so this and am all I think that's why. Also because most of the time you barely even feel it...

    Abbot Blood Glucose Sensor

The freestyle libre? Sometimes the day 1 readings can be out a bit. Should level itself by day 2. It can also be about 10 mins behind your blood test result as it reads a different fluid (I haven't found this myself though). If your bg is changing rapidly, this could also account for a...

    Clinic app advice

You should use diasend with your libre. It gives you extremely detailed stats in the cloud. If you have Internet, you'll have all the data you need! It's what I use, simple to upload your data on there too, your clinic probably knows about it too, ask them when you go[emoji14]

    Type 1: A good HbA1C without hypos?

"On the verge of hypo" Actually, isn't that what we dream of as perfect management?! I used to get a bg reading of 4.x and panic, take some glucose and up it would go. Getting the freestyle libre has shown me that actually, a bg reading of 4.x is fantastic, if the trend says it's going to...

    Eye screening.

I always take a pair of sunglasses with me! The drops increase the size of your pupils temporarily which makes you more sensitive to light. Sunglasses on the way home help, by then you'll be mostly back to normal!
