T2s: What was your fasting BG this morning, and what did you eat yesterday?

FBG was 4.8 this morning breakfast: 150g full fat greek yoghurt, 50g strawberries and 2g bran. 30ml double cream in coffee lunch: roast lamb, cavolo nero and broccoli (eaten at work so I don't have the exact weights), 30ml double cream in coffee mid afternoon: tea with semi-skimmed milk...

Another case of 'I was, but needn't have been.' It's all down to the diet - I wish I'd known before T2 reared it's ugly head!

I found it by accident when I was searching for the one the surgery had recommended I join. Very glad I did!

You are 20 times more likely to have an amputation...

The dear ladies responsible for teaching us on the DESMOND day I attended warned me against this site so, probably not many - apart from a few subversive ones and some spies.

    How were you diagnosed

We don't seem to get ideal information from health care professionals after we're diagnosed so why should be get it before? I've been on my journey for just 4 months yet it's already glaring obvious to me that this is preventable with the right information.

    How were you diagnosed

@Starfish18 and I are the same - persistent thrush. But I was also constantly tired, thirsty and peeing two or three times during the night. Getting the diagnosis was a reief TBH, at least I know what was causing my problems and can do something about it!

Had to test 4 times this morning !

I love the research and equally I quite enjoy challenging current medical opinion. So much of it seems logical to me though (carbs and sugar are the same, so if diabetics shouldn't have sugar, why are we encouraged to have carbs?) and I don't miss roast potatoes any more, because I value my...

Had to test 4 times this morning !

I test three times a day at the moment, sometimes more but this is as a reassurance more than anything. I'm not yet far enough into my journey to be knowledgeable enough about my diet and BS levels. Getting there though!

Had to test 4 times this morning !

How do you cope with the cost of the strips and lancets for this meter? They're so expensive (although I admit the meter itself is really good).

6 this morning. I need to lose a little bit more weight too - here goes! EDIT: I've ordered a 2nd test meter just to be certain - my readings are all a little higher than expected....

    Feeling awful after stopping Metformin

I really don't think I'm ready to come off completely yet and this is partly psychological, I know. I hope there will be no change in my BS levels - only time will tell x x
