Sounds like you're smashing it to me! Well done in the test results!

    Type 1'stars R Us

For me, it was gentle walking that caused sudden crashes in blood glucose, and surprise hypos at a blood glucose of 4.5. None of which have been picked up in my libre data after the fact (and alarms)! I hope it's smooth sailing for you this coming week, if you pardon the pun!

    Type 1'stars R Us

Oh absolutely. I thought my diabetes had been mocking me the past few days, honestly. The day immediately after me asking one of the endo consultants at my hospital team about pumps, and him saying he would refer me to the pump clinic, suddenly I was getting the best time in range ever...

    Type 1'stars R Us

Well today was a reality check. After a couple good days of control/time in range, I thought I'd finally gotten to grips with my insulin doses. Cut to today, 3 hypos and ending the night with a lovely hyper. This diabetes malarky sure knows how to put you well and truly back in your place...

Frequent loss of signal, libre2 on android

Sorry it didn't work. Does the connectivity drop more at specific places? Beyond checking for additive battery, and unrestricted battery use, I can't think of other solutions. Maybe try contacting abbot?

Frequent loss of signal, libre2 on android

This may be a long shot, but I found I had a similar problem when using libre 2 and a 3rd party app. They recommended keeping your phone on the same side as your sensor. Not sure if that's any help? Also check your battery saver settings in your phone. It needs to be unrestricted ideally...

    Morning spikes - DP

This is good to know, I should really start braving exercise again! It certainly feels very unreliable right now as to when it kicks in. Today? A minimal rise. I swear my diabetes is self-aware, and knows of a pump clinic referral I should be receiving soon and hiding my DP to scupper the...

    Morning spikes - DP

Thank you both for the tips, I'll give them a go and see how I get on. As if T1 is mocking me, today I've had very little rise and likely have too much insulin got to love it!

    Morning spikes - DP

Thank you all for the help, and for putting a name to what I'm experiencing. It's comforting to hear it sounds like a common annoyance! I've tried to tackle it the way you all suggest. Fortunately, I'm also on fiasp, and abasaglar so I can get my insulin working relatively well on waking up. I...

    Morning spikes - DP

Hi all! Figure I'd pick the brain of the hive mind a little. I'm a little confused, to say the least. I've noticed every morning my blood glucose will rise from 3am onwards. I'm aware this is the dawn phenomenon. But it seems to really hit hard as soon as my feet touch the floor from waking...

    Blood sugar levels and driving

In case the link would cause a problem in my post above, here's the reference document from the DVLA: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/834451/inf294-a-guide-to-insulin-treated-diabetes-and-driving.pdf Its well worth a read...

    Blood sugar levels and driving

From memory, under 4.0 is the law threshold. But, DVLA advice is to be above 5.0, and to eat a 15g snack before driving if you're under this. If you're hypoglycemic, you should wait 45 minutes after reaching a blood glucose level above 5.0 before driving. The DVLA also says you should move to...

    Requesting a pump?

Hi @Rokaab and @Juicyj. Thanks for replying. Oddly, I've the opposite experience. My dsns at the hospital have been amazing, very supportive and have a more open view to pump eligibility. My local GP on the other hand, in essence, said I've no chance at all. I won't lie, their reasoning left...

    Requesting a pump?

Hi all. I've been T1 for over a year now, and wondered how those of us who do not qualify for a pump via the NICE guidelines can go about requesting to be considered for funding? How did people approach this subject with their dsn etc.? I feel a little guilty to be asking knowing there are many...

    Intermittent fasting

Thanks for the link, it's really informative! I would assume though that when ill, fasting on a low carb diet would put you at greater risk of dka? Assuming the illness is making your glucose levels haywire.

    Intermittent fasting

I'm incredibly new to this, and heed the advice of others who've lived with t1 diabetes more than what I'll say. But, I'd be conscious of checking ketones to begin with. As far as I know, you can encourage ketogenesis by fasting, increasing the risk of dka. It may be best to speak with your...

    The Honeymoon Period ...

Hi there! I started on 14u to begin with - although this was only very briefly while still in hospital. I've since been on 6u of basal. But, I've just been advised to lower this even more, to 4u, and to use a 1:60 carb ratio. I have to say, basal changes are a bit of a mystery to me. I'm...

    The Honeymoon Period ...

Hi @Juicyj. Oddly, that is comforting to hear. I've certainly been struggling with the clash of my natural insulin production and dosed insulin. Namely the sporadic nature of what I produce! It's been fairly disheartening to be doing your best to get it right, only to have back to back hypos...

    The Honeymoon Period ...

Hi all. I was hoping the community could tell me about some of their experiences of T1 during the honeymoon period. I've recently been diagnosed (Late June '22), and appear to be very much in the honeymoon phase - I'm presently injecting an average of 12 units as a daily total of basal and...

    Newly Diagnosed Type 1

A good start would be Coeliac UK - I'd post the link but I think the age of my forum account may just throw a spanner in the works!
