    Libre2 Prescription rejected

Unless you are on multiple daily injections of insulin you'll be very unlikely to be prescribed a Libre. It might be worth looking up what your specific Health Board in Scotland says about diabetes treatment, though from what I've read what you have been told is correct. In my own case (in...

A leather belt cinched round the top might help. We sometimes resort to one to loosen jar tops.

    Managing Diabetes On The Bike

I carry my Libre Reader in my cycling jacket pocket and it alerts me if I'm trending towards too low. Once upon a time before Libre 2, I'd stop every 30 mins and test my BG. I also carry a phone but that's to record my stats on Strava and for emergency calls if needed.

A few asking for low carb food lists....

The Carbs & Cals book is also available as an app for a phone. It was free when I got it, but there may be a charge fr it now.

Any Type 3C people out there?

Hi Steve and welcome to the world of multiple daily injecting: it does take a bit of getting used to but one thing that might help you work out how much rapid acting insulin to take is to start a diary and note your blood sugar at the start of a meal, the amount of insulin you take and then your...

Insulin in freezer for a reason

Cool bags are good insulators and work equally well at keeping both heat and cold out, so I would guess that your insulin is ok. I think it turns cloudy if it's been too cold (I may be wrong though).

    Glicazide and diabetic medication

I jogged along nicely on gliclazide, diet and exercise and was just about being regarded as 'in remission' but then my levels started to rise and I ended up on MDI of insulin due to my pancreas having had enough and deciding to go slow on insulin production. I do have a feeling that what did my...

Any Type 3C people out there?

We are all different in our insulin requirements : I normally have 10 units with breakast (about 25 gm carbs), 2 units with lunch and anything between 6 and 8 units with my evening meal which can comprise anything up to 100 gm carbs.

    Libre 2

It might be worth trying a Libre Reader with it set on loud and also on vibrate. Last time I set mine on vibrate on my bedside table it frightened the living daylights out of me !

    Type 1 Libre 3

Can you confirm that there is a reader available for FSL 3? I was under the impression that it could only be used with a phone, and this rather worried me as I seldom carry a phone and just use the reader which I carry in my shirt pocket with my FSL 2.

    Type 1 diabetes lantus

Shouldn't be a problem, I cope with a 2 hour shift twice a year when we go abroad on holiday and it doesn't seem to affect me.

FreeStyle Libre - Time in Target

Hi @Melgar, @Antje77 has answered with the link to LibreView: It's well worth setting up an account as the LibreView report gives a huge amount of data - it runs to several pages, I just showed the first page of my last report. I just connect my reader to my PC to upload data as I don't use a phone.

FreeStyle Libre - Time in Target

As has been said already TIR has become recognised as a better indicator of diabetes control than a basic, one-off HbA1c test. I upload my Libre to LibreView every fortnight when I change my sensor. My last upload showed that my TIR/TIT had gone down below my usual 90%+ but this is a result of...

    Faulty freelibre

A couple of weeks ago I had a faulty sensor - it fell apart while trying to apply it! I phoned Abbott on Friday and received a replacement the following Wednesday. I've been using Libre for a few years and have had to return only three due to faults and have found Abbott's service to be very good.

    Trialing Libre, Enquiring about Dexcom?

I can't comment about Dexcom, but I've been using Libre for about 3 years and have found it reliable and usually very accurate. This evening the Libre alarm went off as as was 'hypo' so just out of curiousity I did a blood test and it returned exactly the same 2.9 reading. I have had one Libre...

Type 2 Pancreatitis & diabetic help

Hi @Nodemus , gosh you do seem to be having a lot of problems! My overall impression is that you really need help and investigation of all your conditions. You need a test to assess how well your pancreas is functioning and how much insulin it is capable of producing and also if you need a...

    Travelling with insulin

I've gone through airport security at least a dozen times with insulin and have never been asked for a doctor's letter, though I do have one. If your pens were in a box it should have your name etc on it and that would probably suffice if any questions are asked.

    Pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy

There's not much I can usefully add that hasn't already been stated. You do need to see a good endocrinologist and discuss your symptoms and possible treatment. Good luck!

You'll have no problems going through security. On teh plane I carry my reader and glucose supplies in my travel waistcoat along with my bolus insulin pen.
