normal feelings or needing professional help?

Hi Dawn and Mel I remember when my Son James was first diagnosed (at 3 years old) we thought our world had come to an end. It seemed that he was the only one with diabetes that I knew of anyway. No other child in his primary school and now no one in his Comp School. He had his days, and...

Lantus in half units/Novorapid half units

Thanks iHS Do you think If I write my Dr. a letter asking for the Lilly Humapen HD and the Lantus cartridges as well as the Novorapid cartridges, he will let me have them without any question seeing as we are new to the MDI's and it's not what our DSN requested for us in the first place, or...

Lantus in half units/Novorapid half units

Thanks All for the replies. Is Lantus Solostar just a name. I did not think you could get Lantus cartridges cos we have a Novopen Junior and a Novopen 3 Penfill, would they fit in these. If the insulin is no different to the "Solostar" then I should be able to get that on script as well. :D

Lantus in half units/Novorapid half units

Tried to find out if Lantus do half unit pens or cartridges, but it looks like they only do the Lantus Solostar pre-filled pens in single units. Does anyone know anything different :?: Also going to get on script tomorrow 3ml Novorapid penfill cartridges, as James is experiencing a lot of...

Re: ceoliac disease Hi There My Son James has been a coeliac since 2005 and we were devastated at the time. He had to have a biopsy to actually determine the diagnosis and it came back positive. But now 5 years on we are managing to keep him on the straight and narrow and does not eat any...

I am so glad I have people to communicate with on here as I seem to living and breathing, testing, carb counting and injections. My DSN did also say that as James is a coeliac, his diet does tend to have more sugar content as well. I'm scratching my head with frustration as I type this. Best...

Hi Everyone An hour later and James has dropped to 6.1. It is not easy for James to test before games (Rugby) as he has only an hour to get to the changing room, change, get on the pitch, play, back to changing room and catch the bus home. His glucose meter is kept with the Nurse in her room...
