Twice a day. 50/50 twelve hours apart.

Not sure if I've taken my Insulin?

Have been in the same boat, got a NovoPen Echo now which tells me how many units I took and how long a go I took them. As for your dilemma, if it were me I would monitor BGs for the next couple of hours. If much higher than normal I would take the normal shot and continue to monitor every hour...

    question

If my BG are above mid teens for 24 hours or so I get those symptoms, the blurry vision takes a bit longer before I'll notice it. Tingling more lightly when BG are returning to normal after a few days of poor control.

does anyone else feel really ill after alcohol?

Yep. I always feel terrible after drinking. Even small amounts will make me suffer for most of the next day. A proper session with mates will pretty much write off the next day........ don't/cant drink much anymore.........................

    night hypos

As can something as simple as switching on the central heating. Being warmer will increase the speed at which your insulin is absorbed. Don't worry about a one off too much. Maybe check BG's at 3am for a couple of nights and see what's up.

    Blood sugar

Just watch the rice. Rice will send my BG soaring. I've had to completely give up the stuff. Your levels look excellent, keep up the good work.

    Novorapid Echo Refills

Are you already using a Novopen? The Echo uses the same cartridges and needles as my older pens.

Upset because of my new doctor

I remember when I switched from Insulatard to Lantus. I explained to my GP that Lantus was long acting 24 hour insulin. To which he responded by removing my prescription for NovoRapid. Er no........

    Long trips with diabetes

Hi. I mean you can walk into a pharmacy and buy some. I have never been to India but have bought insulin in developing countries without problems. You have to have a back up plan is case you lose or damage it anyway.

    Long trips with diabetes

Check before you leave, but you can probably buy anything you need over the counter. Happy travels! Glen.

    INSULIN WHILE ON A FLIGHT

You have to be a little carful injecting in such a confined space and you really should warn the person next to you for their safety and out of politeness. You don't want to jab them by mistake.

    CGMs

Freestyle navigator is £950 for the unit/display and the sensors cost £240 for a pack of 6 which last 5 days each.

    Mini fridge to store insulin

Unless it has a some sort of temperature control I wouldn't use it for anything other then keeping the beer cold. Proper little fridges with thermostats aren't too expensive considering the piece of mind it will give you.

    retinopathy

I had a tiny bleed detected on a routine annual scan. By the time the specialist had a look it had completely cleared up. I agree with robert72 and would get down to A+E without delay if I notice any sudden changes.

    Anyone seen/used these? Chinese pumps.

Has anyone any experience with these insulin pumps? Wonder if they would be any good or more likely land me in A+E? I've bought other stuff in bulk from China and the quality has always been as expected or better. I'm not thinking for resale the pump , just for one for myself...

    Dodgy insulin pens

I'll ask my cousin. She works in the complaints department of Novo Nordisk. I've never had a problem with any of my Novopens.

    Blood in eyes

I had a similar thing years ago pre diabetes, big red bloody mark beside of my iris about 15 mm long. Disappeared quickly over a few days. I worried about it then and would worry a lot more with the diabetes if it happened again.
