being diabetic!!
before being diagnosed earlier this year i could drink so much. (out with my mates, not on a daily basis)

now after 2/3 glasses of wine I feel so ill, and the next day I have a full on hangover
does anyone else feel that drink affects them in this way?

Ive always wondered if it was the fact im not 20 any more or diabetes. I can have two glasses of wine and thats it. I get drank very easily and hangovers are quite bad :(

i barely drink at all anymore, possibly once a week?
and im wondering if it might be cos my body isnt used to me binging every weekend or is it cos of my diabetes, i dont know!
x

Yep. I always feel terrible after drinking. Even small amounts will make me suffer for most of the next day. A proper session with mates will pretty much write off the next day........ don't/cant drink much anymore.........................

I enjoy the occasional night out, though must say do feel totally **** the next day, me getting old or the insulin, I will guess its the insulin. Safety notice, drink with extreme caution!

Is that only since you've been diabetic?

My friends have got used to me going out and drinking diet coke! The only problem is I can't sleep cause of the caffeine! And just feel as bad!

Yes, used to be able to drink a reasonable quantity every so often without getting too drunk and be fine at 7am the next day. Now drink alot less, feel more drunk, and struggle the next day. Have thought about drinking more often to get used to it but thought better not to lol. (i havn't really). Easy to have a good time out with friends with a social drink, more fun then cause you see what you would look like if you carried on haha

I dont go out anymore because of how ill I'll know I'll be the next day.
And I'll always have a hypo the next day too

Ok so any suggestions on what to drink when we are out with friends? (Please no water and lime!)

If that's just because of alcohol, don't let it stop you having fun and going out with your friends.
Easy to go out and have fun without drinking. Usual rules apply and if dancing be sure to have a little snack as it may cause a drop, make sure you carry some diabetic id In case of emergency.

Pubs should have caffeine free diet coke, that would be nice though don't think that will happen.
