I am at the end of my tether

Hi all. I am getting desperate. I have had Type 2 for around 10 years. I am now on insulin, metformin, Lyrica and meds for blood pressure and cholesterol. I suffer terribly with neuropathy in my feet and edges of my fingers. I also forget things. I live in chaos because of these problems, and...

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

Thank you so much for that. I will call that hospital tomorrow.

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

Thank you everyone, I have a lot of reading to do!!! I think many of you seem to live in areas with a choice of health services. I am in Cornwall, so no Spire hospitals. I asked my GP for a referral to a private endocriologist, and he said he didn't know one!!!!!

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

The only way I found to be in total control of my blood glucose was to be carb-free. When I was in a better state of mind, I tried this for two weeks, and it worked, but I couldn't keep it up, I craved so much in my diet. So, in turning over my new leaf, but being realistic, if I adopt a...

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

I have read quite a lot online about diabetes and Hashimotos and how people with diabetes are more likely to have underactive thyroids. I just want a doctor to treat the two things, not just the diabetes. My brain fog and exhaustion might be down to the Hashimotos - I won't know until they...

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

As I said, I know it is very difficult to understand if you have never had mental problems. I had a high powered job and was proud of my ability to make decisions. Since my breakdown I sometimes find it difficult to organize my clothes washing. I am so glad for all of you who are able to deal...

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

My original question - should I be treated for the Hashimotos alongside the diabetes - was because I believe I am not dealing with my issues well BECAUSE I am suffering the effects of badly controlled blood glucose and the effects of hypthyroidism. How can i get focused on my diet when my...

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

But how can I get these tests done if I have a GP who won't help?? I live miles from any decent sized town and although I have private medical insurance, there are no private doctors for 50 miles.

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

Whooo, this could get deeper than I meant it to. The breakdown affected every part of my life, and I sank into a chaotic lifestyle, which I am struggling to get out of. I have had therapy. Going out to dinner, getting away from our chaotic cottage, makes me feel "normal". Being able to chose...

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

My husband and I get an enormous amount of pleasure from eating at good places, from independent, passionate cafes to Michelin starred restaurants. We love talking food with independent suppliers, and travel a good deal, to wine growers all over Europe. We both love to cook - me when I am not...

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

Thanks guys. When I said my doctor will not deal with my thyroid problems, I mean he won't even prescribe any medication for it. I have totally untreated Hashimotos. I have been unable to face dealing with anything for over three years due to a breakdown, and although I do not eat junk food...

    Type 2 and Hashimotos

I have had Type 2 diabetes for around 10 years. I do not cope well, but am hoping to turn over a new leaf this year. Some years ago I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Disease (a hypthyroid condition) but my diabetes specialist has refused to deal with that until I can control my BG levels...

    Revitive

Hi all. My husband has offered to buy me a Revitive machine for Christmas. I have neuropathy in my feet and this can keep me awake at night. I take Gabapentin, but this does not help much. Does anyone have any experience of this machine and/or any advice?

    Am I just being paranoid?

I have neuropathy in my feet - not really bad, but I do need to soak my feet 2-3 times a week, and I massage them with cream every night as I can get burning sensations that keep me awake. Tonight I noticed a tiny dark mark at the base of a toe - it's tiny, no more than a pin prick, but I have...

    Do Victoza and Novorapid mix?

Good morning all. I am Type 2, taking Victoza in the morning, Levemir at night, and glucophage. My diabetes has recently been all over the place due to stress and a bad diet. This morning my BS was 18, I feel exhausted. I have taken 20 units of Novorapid that I don't nornally use (the doctor...
