    ***?!?

Me too. Give them the benefit of the doubt though guys. Maybe they're just a bit thick rather than malicious? Either way they're keen to make sure their constituency gets bigger, not smaller. fergus

    Yes!! and thank you all

Well done peppiB, what an encouraging story! Does make me wonder though. You know it works and your DN knows it works. But presumably unless you'd figured it out for yourself, she would have felt it impossible to recommend it to you? In other words, the vast majority of diabetics in this...

    Dr Bernstein's Book

Same here, I'm type 1 and thought it was worth seeing whether I could use less insulin by taking ALA and evening primrose. I gave it a go for 3 months but it had no effect whatsover. fergus

Let's give this diet a whirl then...

My taste in shoes is impeccable (so says the Mrs. who studied under Imelda Marcos, so she should know). It's my taste in acolytes that needs a bit of work  Kegstore, welcome to the Dark Side. The Force is strong with you. fergus

    Scared and Confused!

Hi toastlover, Get yourself a copy of Charles Clark's 'The Diabetes Revolution' and that'll get you started. Read it while you tuck in to bacon 'n eggs for breakfast and you're on the first steps to weight loss and better health. Good luck. fergus

It has been said before but.......

It has been said before but.......

Dearie me, Ally, there you are casting aspertions about other peoples credentials and you consistently spell healthcare professional HPC? There are many HCP's on here who post with compassion, intelligence and dedication. We are extremely grateful for their input. If you are banned, it...

It has been said before but.......

    1. This is not a low carb site. 2. There is far more praise for HCP's on the good guys thread than you'll see anywhere else. 3. There has never been any dispute that not eveyone needs to low carb. And yes, if you carry on like this, you might very well find yourself banned from the forum. fergus

It has been said before but.......

Ally, you do nothing but provoke arguments and confuse people here. Some constructive advice from time to time might be useful. But no, you spend most of your time trying to discredit perfectly well intentioned people who have achieved great success in managing their conditions, often in the...

    Good Guys

Yup, must be quite a shock to see so many diabetics with non-diabetic blood sugars, lower meds, weight loss and feeling much better in themselves, eh? fergus

    Good Guys

Carole, feel free to cut and paste anything from the forum which helps you make your case. Might also be worth suggesting your HCP takes a look at the forum for themselves and see what well informed diabetics are doing? All the best, fergus

    5% Club

So the light at the end of the tunnel was an oncoming bike? Great result with the A1c, though, well done indeed! Let us know when the cholesterol numbers come back. Even if total cholesterol has risen a bit, it's likely to be HDL (the good stuff). Your triglycerides might have actually...

LOW CARB DIET - A NEWBIES GUIDE

Diabetes.co.uk has no agenda to promote any particular dietary approach towards controlling diabetes. However, many members have found a low carbohydrate diet to be uniquely beneficial. As newbies often have many questions about low carb diets and since they are rarely discussed by health...

    honeymoon??

Hi Dave, Sounds like the pancreas is giving it a right good go at the moment! Must be really difficult for you though. Dr Richard Bernstein is interesting on the subject - he appears to have patients who have been able to maintain their honeymoon for many years, some apparently indefinitely...
