    Freestyle Libre problems

Had similar issues with the two i trialed, and I had the second one installed 48 hours first to settle. Just kept reading weirdly. Not just low but numbers that didn’t add up even with the lag they tell you about. People mentioned about third party apps but as my health care team wanted to...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.1 this morning. Yesterday I had an issue taking my last bolas injection where after removing the needle it was pooled on my skin (assuming I managed to hit a fatty lump or something that wouldn’t absorb the liquid). Not knowing how much if any my body had absorbed I decided to check later...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

4.3 for me. Deliberately kept a little higher yesterday as I’m doing a load of decorating which meant I went to bed at 6.1 and still woke up lower than I wanted. Time to lower that basal again methinks...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

4.3 for me this morning. Who’d a thunk that I’d be working on getting higher numbers. :) And wish me luck, it’s hba1c day...

    Just my luck. lol!

So a little update. Spoke to the area diabetic nurse and basically they said don't worry about it. Lol! They said that they've heard of people being up to 6mmol off target with it and they really only want to monitor trends with it than the actual numbers. So if I can find a way to calibrate...

    Just my luck. lol!

That's not something I was aware of, I do have it on the underside of my upper arm rather than the side though so it shouldn't be getting squished. Though as an example I'm currently in the mid 4s (just did a BG test) but the libre is freaking out saying I'm at 3.3! I have a feeling I'd be...

    Just my luck. lol!

Just started looking into calibration options, just not sure if they actually calibrate the sensor or set the software to adjust correctly. As I need the info to be available in Libreview (my diabetes care team are linked in to it) it needs to be the former rather than the latter. I really...

    Just my luck. lol!

Ok, so my second libre arrived, I put it on my arm then waited 2 days before activating it but same results. At this point I can't see it's the libre, I mean what's the odds of getting two bad ones? But at the same time the readings are too far out for me to trust it. As an example, it woke...

    Just my luck. lol!

Honestly I wanted to use it instead of finger pricks. But it might be better to have both tbh as I really want to dial in my insulin doses.

    Just my luck. lol!

That's worth knowing. So for a couple of days do you keep both in?

    Just my luck. lol!

Dang! 2 days of dodgy readings? If that's true I might as well stay with finger pricks.

No but the numbers weren't even close. Libre = 3.9. BG = 7.8 Abbott are 100% that it's broken. Even now (about 24 hours in) it's reading 4.1 and the BG is 5.8. (all with that nice horizontal arrow so it shouldn't be lag).

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Mine this morning was 4.4 or 5.8 depending which one you go with (BG or the Libre). However given that I found out my Libre was faulty (I did not have a hypo last night, no matter what it said), we'll go with the 5.8. :) How is everyone today?

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Are you on insulin (just checking, could be pills or handled by diet)? If so it sounds like your basal (long term injection) is a little low. I'd have a chat with your healthcare team about it.

    Just my luck. lol!

So, got my Freestyle Libre 2 training yesterday, simple, painless, and set up during the call. Anyhoo, the numbers were a bit low but I knew it wouldn't be a direct match so didn't think much of it, then it said I was dropping into a potential hypo. Bit worrying as I don't normally go that low...

    About DAPHNE

So I was on pills to manage my diabetes and in the end I had major issues. So in Jan I was swapped to a basal bolas insulin regime and it’s made the world of difference. My numbers are between mid 4s to mid 6s at fasting (usually in the low to mid 5s) and I’ve never felt better. Once you have...

    Carb Counting & Pen Types

I think I was hoping for a definitive formula I could apply to the spreadsheet figures. I'm an IT geek and we like facts and figures. That's exactly how it works. I put in the numbers, 1:6 for b'fast and dinner, 1:5 for lunch (I'm Type 2 and they still have me on two Metformin a day...

    Carb Counting & Pen Types

I think what I'm after is a calculation to dial in the ratio. Something like <before GL> - <After GL> / units = carb ratio (I know that calc is BS, I just needed to put something in there :) ). That's my thought too. It's got to be better all round, going to contact the team and see if I can...

    libre sensors

Sorry to jump on this thread but I'm in a similar boat. I get my Libre training on the 11th and have the trial pack sitting in my cupboard as we speak. I was thinking of getting one of the patches that you can put over them to protect them (as I can be a bit clumsy), would anyone suggest a...

How much weight have YOU lost?

Liking some of these posts. Really inspirational. So my numbers since starting to diet when I went on to insulin (in late Jan). I've lost 3st 12lbs (and 1 1/2 dress sizes). Had a slight wobble this week when the mid week weigh-in (an unofficial check mid week before the official check on...
