    Hotel meals?

When I eat out, I will often have a small mixed grill with salad, or similarly some sort of meat and ask for salad instead of chips (I love chips) We are away tomorrow for a fishing holiday in Weymouth so although I will be good, I will also have a treat, wonder if they do fried mars bars...

    HbA1c of 5.6 T2

Thanks Rob. Welshtony - I walk everyday, about 3.4 miles, plus I do still have carbs but a greatly reduced amount, so I try to eat a normal meal, but have maybe a quarter of the carbs I used to have, and for me this works, but I also test my blood sugar 2 hours later to ensure I am not having...

    HbA1c of 5.6 T2

Thanks for your reply Catherine. I appreciate it! Your HbA1c is fantastic. I am very pleased with my results, I just hope its enough to keep things in check. I will keep up with the testing then I think, but maybe lessen it a little when I am eating my known safe foods. Lets hope a cure does...

    HbA1c of 5.6 T2

Hi Just had my recent 6 monthly check and my sugars are 5.6 - T2 for just over a year. What does this mean? Is this the high end of normal for a non diabetic? I know I will always be diabetic, but if I keep doing what I am doing am I more likely to stay out of the danger zone when it comes to...

    Blurred Vision

Darren, when I was first diagnosed I started getting pain and numbness in my foot and my vision was blurred in my left eye. I convinced myself that my foot was about to fall off and that I was going blind. Turned out to be nothing, so best to keep blood sugars in check, and gain as much...

Hi Fencer. I was offered it along with the pneumonia jab because of the diabetes. People do have it for other reasons, but yes diabetes is one of them.

    Which slimming club?

Hi Jen I have never visited a slimming club, I just reduced carbs and stopped all sweet things and 2 stone fell off within a few months. I did walk 2.2 miles each day on top of this however. Im not sure how a diet at a slimming club works out for diabetics, but good luck if you decide to go...

Am in so much bother :(

I started off badly last Friday and it got worse until today. On Friday I ate Crisps. Saturday a pasty, 2 jam donuts and an indian takeaway. Sunday KFC. Monday 6 pieces of toast. This is my first real slip since March last year, but I have been shopping today and pulled myself together...

    This Morning - Diabetes

There are many average weight people with it. The show was a bit misleading, obviously the huge weight loss gave him excellent control, but I assume that if/when the weight goes back on he will be in the very same position once more.
