    Calories or carbs?

Hey KimG! I'm only slightly less new than you, but yes, I think so - I've binned calorie counting! However, I'm a completely know-nothing at this game, so am on your side and wish you loads of luck.

    So much to learn!

I'm still feeling like the new girl in school with this diabetes nonsense. I thought I was getting my head around what I can and can't eat and have been following a low GI lifestyle (don't want to use the word "diet" because it isn't). I've now spent a lot of time reading on these forums about...

    Sensory Neuropathy

Hey, we're all playing the same ridiculous diabetes game, aren't we? It helps to know that people understand what you're going through and it's amazing to get support. I had foot-drop for a long time after my operation and had to re-learn how to walk again - it was hilarious - I had to keep...

    Sensory Neuropathy

Just another random thought - it is pronounced "neuro-pathy" or "neurop-athy"? OK, I'll get back in my box now!

    Sensory Neuropathy

Oh, that sounds really horrible - I'm so sorry you've gone through that, but I'm glad you've got it sorted out now. I'd ask you to keep your pain-free toes crossed until the Doctor tells me it's not that, but I'm not that cruel! Thanks again - I do appreciate your help. Have a lovely weekend.

    Sensory Neuropathy

Oof - I've just looked up Morton's Neuromas and they sound awful - poor you! I'm not sure that's what I've got, because it's not between the toes, rather on the top of my second and third toes, but I'll raise it with my Doctor next time I go. Is there anything you did/do which relieves the...

    Sensory Neuropathy

It's on top of the toes - like boiling water has been poured over them.

    Sensory Neuropathy

Hi all Relatively newly T2 diagnosed and am still very much in the "learning zone"! I've searched the forums and can't see anything obvious, so am hoping that you lovely people will be able to offer some help and advice. I'm suffering from sensory neuropathy in one foot and think this is...

    Confused over carbs and sugar

I was told to have one three times a day but my diabetes nurse said a lot of people forget to take the lunchtime one (that was absolutely me!) and suggested two at breakfast and one with dinner. This works a lot better for me, although I do feel stupid for being one of those people!

    Why can't t2 get a meters n test strips?

Hi - I'm newly diagnosed and my Diabetic Nurse asked me if I wanted a meter when I went for my initial appointment. She warned that the strips weren't available on the NHS, but when I filled the prescription, the chemist didn't ask for money. I was prepared to pay, but it seems maybe that I...
