    Finally started Novorapid and struggling

Yesterday i have called the nurses office at the Royal Free. After half an hour a nurse called back, told me to get off the Novorapid and gave me an appointment in two weeks time. I told her i will be in very high numbers until then. She just said that is still safer as having hypos after...

    Finally started Novorapid and struggling

That makes perfect sense. Thanks so much Scott-C. I will experiment a lot from now on. I admire all of you who are managing this illness so well. For some reason i still believed my LADA wouldn't progress.. Best wishes.

Thanks Diakat, No, the nurse didn't give me anything but i thought 40 carbs means i have to use 4 units? I could call the nurse although i only have a number to call at the hospital nurses office, i always see a different nurse. The same happened today, i just had a reading of 3.3 and that...

Hi All, Hope you're doing well this weekend. I got so much information from this forum although i don't post that often. I have started injecting Novorapid on Friday and the only information i have is from the internet, specially this forum. The nurse in the hospital just said, she wants to see...

Should t1s be advised not to have children?

Well, my father had the same type of diabetes like i have. Back in the eighties they called it juvenile diabetes, so T1. He also developed it in his late forties, just like me. He died of another, not diabetic related illness a few years later. Moderator edit to remove belittling comment

    Sleep interrupted by neuropathy.

I'm living with this terrible pain as well. 10 days ago i have started taking 600mg lipoic acid. It has lowered sugar levels straightaway but no pain relief yet. I believe i have heard it takes about six weeks to work?

    Giving Up

Hi Wayne @mist, I hope you are feeling a bit better today! I just saw your thread and your signature. You are saying you survived alcohol and other drugs. That on it's own is amazing and i'm sure you are aware of the pitiful small percentage of people who make it. I'm myself an alcoholic, i...

    Type 1 Necrobiosis Lipoidica

All kind of steroids just send my BG sky rocketing high, a few month back i had some injections in the spine. It had a horrendous effect on the sugar levels and wasn't even helping with the pain. Vitamin D i have to take anyway. I'm so much hoping light therapy will help.

    Type 1 Necrobiosis Lipoidica

Thank you John, my diabetic doctor in the Royal Free has referred me now to another skin clinic as Prof. Bunker in Mortimer Market has discharged me. The light treatment is my big hope! I was reading the condition 'just disappears' by about 20% of patients and i hope i'm one of them. :-)
