    Background Diabetic Retinopathy

T1 47 years. I've had diabetic retinopathy for many years. Had laser treatment to "seal" the microscopic retinal leakages and also numerous injections in both eyes some years ago but nothing since.Vision is still more than good enough for driving. Personally I wouldn't worry about it as there...

Any Idea’s On Rising BG Overnight

I'm on Fiasp and Levemir. To get my night time levels steady I changed from 1 Levemir injection at 6am to 1 at 6am and 1 at 6pm each with half of the single Levemir dose. Nice and steady now and as the post above extra quick acting units when I get up as sugar levels always rise before even...

Buying libre sensors in a pharmacy

Love the app just a pity it can't show how much insulin you have remaining in use and for how long like the reader can.Critical for adjusting next dose if any insulin still active which is why I usually carry my phone AND the reader (in its new pouch thanks to Abbott for the freebie!)

    How to keep Libre on

Used Libre for around 15 months and never had to use any tape. Key thing is to ensure you use the wipes before applying and letting the wiped area DRY before applying.Remove applicator square on and push down evenly and firmly on the sensor to get all of the adhesive area firmly "attached". Back...

    CGM Help

I've been on the Libre (It's a FGM not a CGM (until Abbott bring that out in the UK (like India has now) next year (according to their rep.)). I have to go to the hospital every 3 - 6 months to be reviwed and fill in a questionnaire to be able to keep it and also be in target >60% and be below...

LibreLink on Android, and uploading data to Libreview.

Libreview shows my phone (android s7 edge) readings in LibreView without having to press a download button. In LibreView I can switch between phone and reader readings. Probably over the top but I log insulins/carbs/meds/exercise with the reader and insulins/carbs/notes on phone. Always keep...

    Upgrade libre reader

I'd only use the App only too if it told you how much insulin you've got left working and for how long like the reader does.

    Insulin pen coolee

According to Frio wrbsite "FRÍO[emoji2400] keeps in-use insulin and 29 other temperature sensitive medicines cool and safe, within safe temperatures of 18-26°C (64.4-78.8°F) for a minimum of 45 hours, even in a constant environmental temperature of 37.8°C (100°F)." In my opinion avoid the...

    Removing libre sensor

Just taken mine off. Peels off then wipe where its been with one of the two sterile wipes in the kit.Use the other to prepare the skin on your other arm (or where ever you're putting it) for the replacement sensor. Sometimes it peels straight off sometimes as above the sticky needs to be rolled...

T2 - extreme stress and illness

Go to your local Walk In Centre. Waiting time is usually minimal and GPs / Doctors there to see you. I've never had to wait more than 10 or 15 mins when I or anyone I've taken there needed to be seen. https://www.nhs.uk/Service-Search/Walk-in%20centre/LocationSearch/663 Good luck to you and your...

I was on Novorapid which took hours to work so my diabetologist switched me onto Fiasp at my request which is Novorapid with added vitamin b3 and amino acids which makes it work from as little as 2 mins according to the manufacturer but I find it takes around 20 mins to start working in real...

On Novorapid and Medtronic 640 pump

I also "suffer" dawn phenomenon and used to be on Novorapid until almost a year ago Asked my diabetologist to switch me from it to Fiasp (which is Novorapid with an added vitamin which makes it work much more quickly from 2 mins right up to 5 hours). I can't understand why people who are on...

    Been denied FreeStyle Libre

Sorry to hear you can't get one at the moment .This should change in April. I've been lucky as I was asked last Spring a month or so after enquiring about the Libre if I wanted to do a 6 month trial with 19 other T1s and as it improved my Hba1c I was allowed to keep it subject to quarterly...
