    Not overweight

I’m not overweight, never have been and I was diagnosed in October….even while eating low carb (no grains in five years, zero sugar). I believe mine was aggravated by tamoxifen (just because I never wanted to take it..) but really it’s likely due to either LADA or pancreatic diabetes(I suffered...

    Eggs just caused a spike!

Eggs actually do have a small amount of carbs, .6 grams per egg. Still likely not an amount to worry about. Everyone is different and you should experiment with yourself. Personally I can’t have any carbs. For breakfast it’s ground beef (mince?) and some butter, coffee with full fat cream...

Freestyle Libre 2 sensors worse than before? (failure thread).

I hate mine, it’s so inaccurate! Not buying any more. I have had six, all wonky as heck. I’m always doing a blood draw because I don’t trust it at all. What I thought would bring me peace of mine has done anything but…luckily I am diet controlled (type presently up in the air)not type one so...

    Alternatives to Breads and Rice...

Before my blood glucose issues I was diagnosed with severe wheat and gluten allergies (adult onset). I cried, bread was my life….I tried all the gluten free loaves, horrid, every single one. I had rice wraps for awhile and made my own gluten free bread. Yuk, nothing compares to real bread...

    Apple cider vinegar

2tbsp before meals. Now, my diagnosis is being reviewed now and I don’t think I’m type 2 ( normal c peptide, active, no weight issues but do have pancreatic damage from pancreatitis) maybe it works for a true type 2. Won’t hurt you, give it a go.

    Apple cider vinegar

Tried it, got terrible results. Actually spiked the glucose for me. remember, the vinegar will harm your teeth, use a straw and rinse or brush your teeth immediately!

Ozempic or Insulin, do you take either?

The tamoxifen thing annoyed me to no end. My research showed (published studies)a large increase in type two in older women (65+) and it’s NOT on their inserts. I’ve been off it for six months, almost, so the retesting will be interesting. I used to intermittently fast, no breakfast, but found...

Ozempic or Insulin, do you take either?

I am unfamiliar with the testing protocols in your country (I’m Canadian) but what other testing has been done? Have you been tested for type one, or LADA? Have you had a C Peptide test (for insulin levels)? How low carb was your diet? You may have to go zero carb or very low carb (less than...

    Low carb cereal type breakfasts?

I am currently zero carb but before that I would occasionally use the innofoods keto granola (Costco, Canada…but assume it’s everywhere). 8 total grams of carbs per 1/3 cup. I would put it in full fat Greek yogurt. When we travelled to India I brought a bag and it saved me from being very...
