    Morning highs / dawn phenomenon?

I got my last HBA1c result last week, 7.9 so a bit high. I saw my diabetic nurse and we decided it is because I am waking up with very high levels, in the high teens. We have concluded that this is due to my liver dumping and she has suggested eating porridge before bed, which I am now doing...

Sorry Sid, I worded that badly, should have said Type 1 and Type 2's with good control. I stand by what I said about programmes like this not distinguishing enough between Type 1 and Type 2's. Lorna

    Last nights TV program

I too was very angry at this programme, it wasn't only the patient but one of the health experts who was basically saying that once you have diabetes then all the complications are inevitable  I get very angry when programmes like this one do not distingush the huge difference between...

    Trying to lose weight

I have been a Type 1 since 1975. My control hasn’t always been great, teenage years I went off the rails a bit, but for the last 25 years or so my control has been quite good, HbA1c tend to be between 6-8. I do have CKD but this seems to be stable at the moment, my levels have stayed the same...

    Police and hypo and dvla

Sorry if I sound really harsh but I am not on Sharons' side. As someone who totally relies on her car for work it makes me furious that Type 1 diabetics do not always ensure they are in a fit state to drive. It could have ended horribly. We all have to be responsible for our own selfs but I...
