How can I get my morning numbers down

I've been on LCHF since last September and still have simiar numbers to you, so I don't do fasting blood sugars at all these days, might try again in a few months time, I have been Type 2 for about six/seven years so I think it takes quite a while for your body to adjust to lower levels of...

Can a one-off meal really set back and ruin your results?

I had a blow out last week at Wetherspoons, sausage mash and peas, bg numbers shot up to over 9 an hour later, but by 9pm back to 5.8. So to answer your question it didn't make much difference to me, but I won't be doing it again in a hurry as it wasn't that good !! Have become used to my...

    Are Peas Good For Diabetes?

This is just what I do normally, or have the bacon/avacado chicken salad. Just that I meet a pal there on a weekly basis and just felt like bangers and mash for a change. A go to gaol do not pass go moment !!

What is your definition of what is a good level?

I keep getting anything from 6.5 to 8.0 fasting readings, but the rest of the day readings from 5.2 to 7 so I have given up taking a fasting reading as it just gives me a disappointing start to the day, when really I should be happy that I have dropped my HbA1c from 66 to 49. and average BG...

Can You Just Stop Taking Metformin?

Followed the NHS rules, went from diet control, to 1x 500 gms Metformin to 3 x500 Metformin over a five year period, last year questioned why when taking this medication my HbA1C had gone up to 66. Told type 2 was a progressive disease and probably would be on 4 x 500 gms Metformin within...

    delayed urination?

Please get yourself a PSA test I had prostate cancer 7 years ago, only symptom being going to toilet in night and nothing happening. Certainly no pain at all. The earlier caught the better the result, it may not be prostate at all but worth checking out.

    Metformin

I had exactly the same situation and have reduced from 3 x 500 to 1 x 500 per day, although readings have shot up after a few minor indescretions over Christmas, which tells me how fickle my system is. So have to get back to <30 carbs/day having been >50 carbs/day for almost a week now. Over 30...

    too much alcohol and metformin

I too had a heavy night on red wine and woke up with nasty leg cramp, inner thigh, and my blood sugar reading at 8.9 this am., whereas my reading late night before was 5.6. Question :- is cramp likely to push blood glucose readings?

    Diabetic eye screening

I had my retinal eye test on Thursday, he did just hold my eyelid open but it didn't hurt at all. He seem more concerned with offring me wads of tissues to stop drips messing up my clothes.

    Dropping Metaformin dose

This is interesting to me as I am also aiming to get from 3 x 500 metformin/day to zero meds over time. Started LCHF 1st September, 2017, dropped to 2 x 500 metformin 5th October, dropped to 1 x 500/day on Sunday 26th Nov., BGL today 2hrs after lunch 5.6mmol/L, the lowest yet, since Sunday, as...

    Type 2 questions

I have gone on line but from 1/08/2017 so I cannot get into results before 1/08/2017, thus the reason for asking for a print out.

    Type 2 questions

Just for info' I asked for print outs of my results and they have told me I have to pay 10 GBP for them, which doesn't seem quite right to me.
