Are Peas Good For Diabetes?

How many sausages? How big? An average bog standard sausage has just shy of 8g carb - as spoons is a budget place probably not a high grade sausage- which is fine for those not bothered by carbs (they used to be my favourite sausage until I startedvlow carb) plus a little bit of mash and a few peas and gravy if you had it

Just looked thats the carb count so probably at least 35g of carbs in your meal - never mind - I love sausage but I avoid it outside the home unless I know the origin

Bangers and mash

Mmmmmm I'll not be repeating this experience for quite a while!!

When I eat at Wetherspoon’s I pick the gammon and eggs, it’s served with tomato and mushroom, than I ask them to substitute the chips with a side salad. This meal usually shows identical or lowers blood sugars before and two hours afterwards for me.
EDIT I think it may have peas too but I can tolerate them and you could always leave them!
This is just what I do normally, or have the bacon/avacado chicken salad. Just that I meet a pal there on a weekly basis and just felt like bangers and mash for a change. A go to gaol do not pass go moment !!

Weatherspoons lunch is the same as McDonalds processed junk. I'm not a rocket scientist but peas are healthy. Spoons lunch is definitely not. Peas don't spike me and they are a super food

peas are grown in pods and not underground so wonder why they spike our blood sugar levels??

The 'Above ground Veggies' is a general rule. Things like peas and sweetcorn etc are the exceptions to that rule. They have a high carb content per weight.
I can have swede but not parsnip for example, both below ground veggies.
