    Exercise - Help Please!

Sounds good Vicki, glad it was a good weekend and you managed to exercise without a hypo. I'm sure you'll combat the post exercise high soon, just keep trying a different thing as the consultant mentioned. I exercise within an hour of eating so I find halving my breakfast bolus is the only way...

    Finally Cracked

Sorry, my mind has been everywhere today, Well, I burst out crying the minute I got into the doctors. My mum ended up having to tell them what had been going on until I calmed down. Felt so embarrassed. She basically said that she thought I had depression 100% so she's given me Citalapram 10mg...

    Jogging

I was taught, and from literature I've read. You should never start exercising with a bs level of 15 or above, as you put yourself at greater risk of your bs levels increasing due to the adrenaline released during the exercise. As previously stated the adrenaline released can cause a quick rise...

not sure whether I should be offended or not

Gosh that's really shocked me, I've come across many people who have said the similar typical statements 'you can't have this, that' etc but usually after explaining and educating them a little the 'person' is all thankful that they now now. This lecturer sounds very odd. I hope all goes well...

    Mood swings/depression

I was the same today, I think I went from quite all morning, teary at lunch, laughing in the afternoon, snappy by home time and now I'm ok - just vacant. I'm thinking of what to do to my life/work at the moment. Everything affects us in some way eventually. Something I've only just discovered...

    Exercise - Help Please!

Haha - at least you went for a walk though, that's good. I still go hypo walking sometimes, so annoying but a great excuse to eat a biscuit or a choccy bar before I go out

Thank you. How long have you been caring for your parent? Hope they're ok? I find that too, family get involved expecting you to take care of it all. My family don't help. They just praise me for 'having to deal with my mother'. I think only now do I fully understand how mum's felt all these years.

    Finally Cracked

wow, I'm glad he's doing well, that must have taken a lot of strength to go ahead and leave his job. At least he can think more about what he wants to do as you say. My job has been quite stressful from day one really but I just kept on going and tried to muzzle through (don't want to kick up a...

    Finally Cracked

Yes just writing it all down made it all a bit more real actually. I have been looking for a new job for a long time but no luck, I keep saying I'm daft and should just be lucky I'm in a job given the current situation of the world but as you said, would probably be better if I did leave. Thanks...

    Finally Cracked

thank you so much, I know I'm not alone but I think you do forget sometimes don't you. I've tried to be a little more positive and try to 'look forward' to off-loading on the docs in the morning. I burst out crying at lunch and then couldn't stop laughing at why I was crying so that was a...

Thanks robert72. It's so strange because I'm usually fine and just get on with it. I don't know where this has all come from lol

    Finally Cracked

Hi all, So here's my story because I think I've finally cracked over the weekend. Type 1 diagnosed in 1996 aged 10. Been on injections until 2009 where I started a pump. Since being on the pump my control has definitely improved dramatically. Current HBA1c is 6.7% which I'm so chuffed with...

    Mood swings/depression

Hi, I'm going through this myself at the moment although I've had type 1 for 17 years, I've finally admitted that I have depression and am off to the docs tomorrow. From talking with my family and partner we believe i've been slowly getting worse over the last two years. Alot has been going on...

    Exercise - Help Please!

Hi weezer - spinning should be fine for you, I would suggest your first time take it a little easier than you probably normally wood. Keep some lucozade to hand just in case. Just remember if you do some high intensity quick exercise your sugars may rise in the first 5-10 minutes however if your...

    Feeling fed up!

Hi there, This is such a hard question to answer I'm afraid. I've had Type 1 for 17 years, I was a child at diagnosis so I don't really remember much. All I can say is I still have good days and bad days whereby things go great with my bs levels or sometimes hormones/stress/life gets in the way...

    Canderel

Hi, I use canderel on my porridge. I don't really add it to my carbs so don't need to cover it with any insulin. I guess it depends how much you would normally use. I only use a bit, a few shakes.

    milk

A small blob of milk won't raise your sugars that much it's actually the caffeine from what I've heard. I tend to give myself 0.3 units (via insulin pump) if I'm having a coffee. I find when I have a lot of pepsi max/diet coke when on a night out that my sugars go up slightly. I've just...

Repeated hypos after giving the normal amount you would :/

Re: Repeated hypos after giving the normal amount you would I've had this happen to me quite a bit the last few months, with the weather i'm having to adjust and also depending which site i'm using, legs/abdomen will also change how much insulin I give because of the absorption rates. Hope...
