I think the possible "nasty" side effects of Metformin are well known, so it's not really necessary on a thread such as this which is discussing the potential benefits of the drug, for individuals to highlight their own particular issues which really don't have...

    I didn't bother to attend the DESMOND course I was invited to in 2015, so I do not feel qualified to comment as I am not a fan of anecdotal evidence. However, criticising something you have no first hand experience of is a little strange.

    It very certainly is, but there is no advice as to when you need to break your fast. It doesn't automatically have to be first thing in the morning, you can have that meal whenever you choose. But when you finally do have breakfast, it will be your most important meal.

    Not for me. However, when I was overweight eating loads of carbohydrate and had very high blood glucose I was always thirsty and always urinating and often woke up with a dry mouth.

    If they were prescribed by a qualified medical professional, then I am surprised you think anybody on this forum is able to provide a better assurance. If you have concerns about your prescribed medication it is better to talk to your HCP.
