    What about gallstones?

I'm sorry I don't mean to be confusing. Husband has many medical probs and we are sorting that out. But I want to keep him on LC for his diabetes. I also want to cook the same food for both of us, and that's why I was asking about this way of eating and gallstones. If I start trying to do two...

    What about gallstones?

I think I'd be best doing low carb moderate fat, and see how that goes. Hubby is diabetic not me, and he needs to LC, but I'm not doin 2 separate meals because that would drive me insane.

    BS getting more erratic

Hubby this last week hasn't been well, and we suspect poss thyroid changes ( I posed that on another thread and got excellent advice ty). But what is also happening is his BG is becoming more erratic. He used to stay in the 6s and 7s, but this last few days he's veered from 3.9 to 8.9. What...

I feed my hubby porridge made with water and salt and he is ok unless he takes a really big plateful. He adds a dollop of single cream as well.

    help with numbers

Thanks Andrew. He says he hasn't been testing for months and months, apart from first thing when he wakes up. A sign for us to get back on track and be a lot more careful, I thought he was on top of this but seemingly not.

    help with numbers

He used to be ok with porridge but this has shocked him. Although I personally think he eats far too big a plate... We tested today, and he was 8.1 after an hour, then it dropped sharply to 5.9 after two hours. Is this too extreme do you think? See he has heart probs too and am wondering if that...

    help with numbers

No Brunneria, it was just non-fasting bloods done because he went in with chest pain, and he had been eating before it. He had porridge and yoghurt about 2 hours before. Thanks very much for that, yes he has a meter but only tests first thing in the morning and that reading is always around 5.4.

    help with numbers

Could I have some advice please... hubby is type 2, diet controlled. He has heart probs and recently went to the doc with that. They took bloods and we got the result today, with a note that he needs seen again in 3 months. They wouldn't say why. Receptionist said everything's stable, but I made...

    Soft food?

I'm on low carb but not diabetic. My husband is low carb and he's the diabetic. But my question isn't strictly about diabetic food. I am waiting for referral to the dental hospital for the removal of a root, top front tooth. I had both top front teeth out and was to get implants but the root...

    Iron Tonic

He's ok with Burgen, he tested this over many months with his meter. And he has always had the cheese sandwich at 8pm, and the meter readings were fine. Is just this last couple weeks, since he started the tonic, that the readings are higher. But he is also so tired and weak (is why I got him...

    Iron Tonic

His BG numbers have been going up steadily over the last couple weeks, used to be around 5 and now around 7. We don't know what is causing it, so thought I'd check re this tonic. He does have other health probs, so it might be something else. Will try him on the tonic at breakfast time and see...

    Iron Tonic

He won't take them because of a previous "stoppage" problem with them :D

    Iron Tonic

He has a cheese sandwich for supper, so I'm thinking maybe if he took the tonic in the morning then that would help?

    Iron Tonic

Husband is taking an iron tonic that contains malt and honey. He only takes one 10ml spoonful a day. Would this, in itself, be enough to raise his BS first thing in the morning? He is type 2, diagnosed 2009, diet only.
