    Lactose Free Milk

We tried it and it was ok. But we then tried oat milk - which sounds hellish but is actually really nice. Husband used to take 2 sweetex in his tea and now he can do without any. I'm not sure how many carbs it has but I think it's def less than cows milk. The brand I'm getting is Oatly. Makes...

    HbA1c?

We're testing 3 times a day (2hrs after meals) plus first thing, it was just to try and keep things under control after a few months when he lost motivation and let it all slide. Won't matter then, cos surely things are far better than they were. He was hitting 9-10 before when he did bother to...

    Help please- totally bored here!

We're off eating altogether lately as our meals are getting so boring. I'm not a good cook at all, my mum lived on coffee and fags so I never learned and also I have quite bad ME and get very easily tired. So I tend to stick to easy-to-cook meals with no faffing about. I need to find out how...

    Wading through porridge!

Husband was the same - as good Scots we were quite happy wading through porridge as long as it was made with salt and water. Now he moans his face off at having to eat bacon & egg or boiled egg! :(

    Low carb alternative flours!!

I can't abide almonds either, but for hubby I buy LC bread online and it costs £4.99 per 400g loaf but he enjoys it. Has two slices toast with cheese every night so I reckon it's worth it as it lasts him a while.

Need help getting back on the low carb wagon

My hubby had 3 heart attacks then a triple bypass Andy and he says the diabetes is more annoying than the heart. He says the bypass is over and done with and he's ok now (fingers crossed) - but the diabetes is ongoing and unfixable.
