    Diabetic Retinopathy >>> fenofribrate

That made me chuckle - I bet the medical profession hates Google!!

    What's going on ???

It's awful that they've changed your insulin and just left you to get on with it without explaining the possible differences!!

    What's going on ???

p.s. I just had a quick search on this forum and there are quite a few posts about Lantus not lasting 24hrs and splitting doses which might be worth a read (I just put Lantus split dose in the search box), or perhaps just give your doctor/nurse a ring and ask about it.

    What's going on ???

My instinct on this is that your basal is running out during the evening and so your levels are rising. I take Levemir and the general consensus is that splitting the dose into 2 injections is best to make sure you really do get a 24hr effect, I don't know if the same is true for Lantus though...

Freestyle Libre Poll - Have you had a skin reaction ?

I've been using it since November, with very few gaps between sensors and have never found a problem. It must be so frustrating for those of you that can't use it properly now :-(

    protein in urine

I had protein in my urine a couple of years ago following a period of really bad control but it 'fixed' itself with tablets and a bit better control. I don't know how bad 40% is, or if it could be reversed, but don't panic - just see what your doc says.

Is there anywhere you can't bear to inject?

I'm going to have to try that! I used to always use a cushion to get the 'pinch' like @azure but I don't bother since having the 0.4mm needles. I also used to have a real phobia about injecting into my tummy, even though I'd heard people saying it was the easiest and least painful. Can't...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

You're right @MrBloominggrumpy - just work on your everyday BG levels. If you're getting those better then the HbA1c should improve. It can be good to show how much you've improved and the hard work is paying off though. Or can make you realise you have more tweaking (or major changes in my...

    Folic Acid Deficiency / Anaemia

Thanks ladies, I might look at some of the studies at the weekend, could be something interesting... @Curly604 have you seen an improvement in your original symptoms yet? I can't find anything online to tell me how long they take to start working and I'm desperate to get better now I know...

Kind of urgent levels staying high have no control

I agree with AndyS - it's definitely worth getting on a DAFNE course if you can

Kind of urgent levels staying high have no control

I remember being told that it doesn't hurt injecting into lumps. Sounds like moving to a fresh site would be worth trying

    Folic Acid Deficiency / Anaemia

Hi All, I was diagnosed yesterday with a folic acid deficiency and have been prescribed folic acid supplements. I'm wondering if the change is likely to affect my blood glucose as I know folic acid affects red blood cells. Does anybody have any experience with this, or perhaps anaemia...

How are your injection sites? Could you be injecting into lumps?

    Shaking and lunch

I'd say it depends on how much one unit affects your levels. I would expect 4 units to drop my blood by about 12, so if I missed the dose even starting at 3.8 I would end up around 16. This could be different for you of course but on that basis I would reduce my units but not miss the...

What do you dislike most about diabetes? Is there anything you like?

A positive!! Unlike all my friends and family I don't have any fillings - I put this down to sugar free drinks from the age of 8 :-D Doesn't come close to out-weighing all the negatives though...
