    Life with Libre

Well I've got it on and have to say I'm not impressed! It's been up to 3.5 mmol different to my scanner, but with no consistency at all - if it was always 3 under then I could easily adjust in my head but not like this. It also went completely bananas for quite a while last night as shown in...

    Type 1 Idiopathic Type 1??

I wouldn't worry about a pump yet Tasha, they would want to see you carb counting and adjusting doses for a while before going down that road anyway. I would ask about the DAFNE course once you get over here as it will teach you how to adjust your insulin to your needs. There is an online...

    Life with Libre

I've got a roll of this which I'll use to hold it on and keep it waterproof: https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Health-Personal-Care/Smith-Nephew-Opsite-Flexifix-Transparent-Film-5cmx1m/B005UREPVS/ref=pd_bxgy_121_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=J2KG1FQPSS12MJM0M5CS

Question about the Libre CGM device.

I'm planning to use opsite flexfit to hold mine in place which will also make it waterproof. Just need to find time to get to the post office to pick it up! Really disappointed about the lack of alarms too but hopefully there will be a solution soon - official or not :-)

Do the doctors there prescribe ACEI's to you?

I was prescribed Ramipril when I showed very early signs of kidney damage. I think they only prescribe them when they spot signs of damage though rather than just to everyone as a preventative measure

Thanks for the update @Scott-C Let's hope it's worth the wait!

Question about the Libre CGM device.

@Scott-C have you heard anything further? The last I saw they were going to be shipped towards the end of April

Manager wants to see my appointment letter

I agree with others that your boss is just covering her back. If there is something in the letter you really don't want your manager to see then you may be able to arrange to show the letter to someone in HR instead? I've seen this in policies about doctors notes.

    Animas or Medtronic?

I'm going to the INPUT Fusion event on 3rd June so i can do this - Several of the companies are confirmed as attending so I'm going to hopefully get to play with the pumps and give the reps the spanish inquisition :-) It will be a fab event even without this though so check it out if you...

Diagnosed with autonomic neuropathy and peripheral neuropathy

It can certainly feel like we're hamsters on a wheel at times :-( Try to focus on the good things in life, like that little cutie in your picture :dummy: Hopefully you'll get the anaemia sorted out now they've diagnosed it and that may help the fatigue too

If it's a warm day I can wear my 'powered by insulin' vest top :-)

    Type 1 diabetes and contraception

As others have said, the hormones in the different pills and implants can affect us all differently so don't be surprised if the first thing you try isn't right for you. Unfortunately for us we also have the extra consideration of the hormones potentially changing insulin requirements so...

    Stratford-upon-avon 29th April meet up

Ooh something in the midlands! It's my OH's birthday so I'll have to persuade him he wants a day by the river :-)

    Let's have a grumble!

I hate this too. Or the waiting staff who give you a look when you make them take the full sugar coke back and bring you a diet - like I'm just being a calorie nazi rather than not wanting to make myself ill!

    Anyone using Fiasp yet?

I have an appointment next week to start a pump trial with saline so I'm going to ask if we can get me started on Fiasp when I start the pump for real :-)
