    Finger prick advice

I was diagnosed in October 2022 but didn't get a meter until late November. I had such a hard time get enough blood to test and wasted quite a few test strips as the meter would nag me saying not enough insert a new strip! Looked for advice and tried a lot of things. I can still reliably only...

Morning high read just goes higher without food :(

I don't have an answer for you but I sure hope someone can help. I experience the same thing. Thought I would try skipping breakfast and not eating anything until lunchtime. My readings (finger prick) just kept going up and wouldn't come back down until just before/after supper.

Need to tweak what I eat?

I drink a lot of water every day averaging about 9 8oz glasses. The dietician told me to aim for at least 8 5g of protein a day. I usually consume 90g to 100g. I have been increasing my vegetable intake which has been difficult as the vegetables that I liked are not allowed doing LCHF. I do...

Need to tweak what I eat?

I've been eating LCHF (or so I think) for the past month or so. I have seen my BG numbers go down but they are still too high and I am not sure if it is due to the meds or what I am eating. My weight over the last 6 weeks hasn't budged a bit - I thought I would see it just miraculously melt...

    A bit lost

Hi Jan Another 62 year old woman here that was diagnosed about a month ago. Totally shocked as I didn't have symptoms. I was given a prescription for Metformin and had terrible side effects from it. Dietician gave me all kinds of bad advice - such as I could still have two cookies (biscuits)...

    What am I doing wrong?

Thanks all for your wonderfully supportive advice. My foot is well on the way to healing thanks to a week of IV antibiotics and I believe increasing my protein consumption. I am looking forward to swimming again once I get the all clear on the foot front and hope the exercise will also help...

    What am I doing wrong?

Hello from Canada! I am a 62 year old female that was diagnosed a month ago after being treated for a foot ulcer. The doctor phoned to say I needed to come right back to the hospital as blood work showed my glucose was 30 and it should be no higher than 7. I am assuming mmol/L. He said I had...
