    I found it very reassuring that a lady I know told me she has had type 2 diabetes for 32 years, she is 82 so she would of been diagnosed at the age of 50. I was diagnosed at the age of 55 nearly 9 years ago.

    What was your diagnosis blood sugar level?

    I had a fasting blood test and the next day I was phoned up and told to see the doctor. My doctor told me my bt was 17.4 , I then saw the nurse who told me I had type 2 diabetes. Nine months later I had a diabetes review and was told my hb1ac was 6.9.
