    Trigger finger

Pretty sure I have trigger finger on my right hand. It's a bit uncomfortable and is always worse in the mornings, sometimes I have to straighten my finger and it clicks back in. :depressed: It's getting harder to write notes which I need to do for my uni work :arghh: I know that trigger finger...

Is my Grandmother allergic to Metformin tablets?

Metformin is a known stomach irritant and unfortunately diarrhoea is a common side effect.

What are you doing now and humorous banter.

Deadpool 2 was great. Lunch today was even better! Now contemplating a sneaky bit of baklava at the Lebanese restaurant over the road. I've been at uni now for 3 hours and have barely moved from the seat in the library. :watching: I think I might be going crosseyed at this point.

What are you doing now and humorous banter.

I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my sister so we can eat and go out. It's been a long day. I was up around 5am and only got home about an hour ago. First day of my new placement at the hospital. So far, so good but I've 4 weeks to go yet! Looking forward to seeing Deadpool 2 (in IMAX...

    Low Carb diet

This is actually the other thing I was thinking about. I really want a libre trial so I can track what my glucose levels are doing between testing. I'm testing 4+ times a day at the moment anyways because I'm on a minimed paradigm (soon to be a 640g)

What are you doing now and humorous banter.

Hello! Haven't been around for a while. The last thread of this kind had me all kinds of lost with all the new posts  (I'm not that quick haha)

What are you doing now and humorous banter.

Evening all. Hope you're enjoying the sunshine whilst I have been stuck at my desk all day going cross eyed in hopes to make some sense of my assignment. I chose type 2 diabetes thinking it would be an easy choose. I was so wrong. When you factor in that it all has to be evidence based...

    Life beyond diabetes

We're all accustomed to it. You join a new support forum / group etc and you introduce yourself as having *Name *diagnosed *age etc. But we are not just diabetes. Who else are you? I'll start: My name is Jen, I am 34yrs old and I am a first year student nurse. I love reading, especially Terry...

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

Thank you. I was diagnosed in 1994. Insulin pumps were heard of but rare due to the expense and not being available on the wonderful NHS.

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

I find myself in an extremely lucky position of having a consultant who does seem to just get it. I don't know if he has t1, but if he doesn't, I applaud him all the more. I don't feel like I have to explain too much to him, because he understood already. And not just nodded like he thought he...

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

I have always just got on with it. Struggled and gotten through highs and lows – quite literally and although my family have been supportive, there was something lonely about it. They didn’t know what it was like to wake up in the middle of the night, sweating and feeling the dire need for...

    Low Carb diet

My HbA1c is a bit higher than desired, unfortunately so is my weight. I try to follow weight watchers but it's not that easy, especially with my lifestyle. There were results shown to help reduce variance of blood glucose levels whilst improving other results such as cholesterol. I take a statin...

    Low Carb diet

Not too long ago, I was at an education night for insulin pump users in my area. The discussion was on low carb diet and how it can help with type 1 diabetes. Has anyone tried it? I've been thinking about it since the session because I always thought it was a bad idea for a type 1 but it all...

They tasted okay but the consistancy was wrong and some ended up more like scrambled egg [emoji20]

    Type1. Blame the diabetes

I havent, I've only researched the condition itself. There was a theory that my pill was causing it but nothing changed with my skin when I changed that so back to square 1.

    Type1. Blame the diabetes

Anyone else always get the explanation that it's 'yoir diabetes that is causing it'? I was diagnosed type 1 when I was 9 and I've had fairly okay to good control over the last 23yrs. But I'm also under dermatology for a skin condition called erythema nodosum. Unable to find a definitive cause...

    Type 1 Ketones

I was told by a diabetes nurse that urine testing can be false reading since it's 4hr behind what iz actually in your blood. Your blood monitor is definitely more accurate and up to date. I have one, had it for years.
