    The all-inclusive T1ED + neuropathy thread

So, anyone suffering worse with neuropathy pain in the heat? My legs feel like they are swollen even though they aren't at all, such a weird feeling. Toes just keep going a bit fuzzy.

Diane Abbott blames type 2 for her poor performance.

She was just trying to explain and also I think she is likely keeping some information back. Probably more related to her mental health, and that's her right to keep private. She didn't say she had it easier than Theresa May or even mention her, she's just sharing her own story and being honest...

    Heat/hypo warning..

I always have my blood sugars soar higher in the heat instead of dropping low. I have never been able to find out a reason as to why this is as most people seem to experience more hypos (though know there are others like me too)? I hate how unpredictable diabetes can be from day to day argh!

Also wondering how you are doing today? You don't have to deal with this alone. Keep talking here x

Diane Abbott blames type 2 for her poor performance.

I don't think anyone can judge her. Nobody knows how her diabetes impacts her on a daily basis, type 2 or not.

    T1ED General Chat Thread

Thank you so much. I honestly believed that having 'eating disorder' also in the title would be too many characters, plus it was another mod that suggested the t1+ed prefix. I apologise for not realising this, though. I propose that the other threads for gastroparesis and retinopathy be changed...

    T1ED General Chat Thread

What would you suggest as an unambiguous prefix? As an aside, could a mod please move these to our 'general chat' thread. Thanks. This thread is supposed to be for issues relating to neuropathy and eating disorders. @DCUKMod

    T1ED General Chat Thread

We used the ED+T1 prefix so to distinguish these threads from any that might be appearing elsewhere in relation to general diabetes issues on account of the fact people often use 'view new posts etc', in the hope they'd also check which forum the post would be coming from. But of course, the...

    T1ED General Chat Thread

No that is true but as said above this is a thread where those that have neuropathy resulting from an eating disorder and type 1 diabetes can post freely. I am sure you can find support elsewhere on the forum however :).

    T1ED General Chat Thread

I aim to be posting a FAQ post in due course with a list of technical terms but please be patient with us as we try to get the forum in order. At the moment it is mostly just me in charge here with help of another global mod as a software issue means our moderator abilities have not been...

    T1ED General Chat Thread

Yes agreed (and of course I know what forum we are in! I am a mod), but insulin omission is the primary cause of prolonged high blood glucose in those wth eating disorders and diabetes. Even with any eating disorder involved it is a lack of insulin that is the contributor. I can amend for...

    Anorexia recovery and high CBG's

Hi there, As I am not a health professional I can't comment on what might he happening with your blood glucose levels. But what I do know is that certainly, your anorexia may have affected your pancreas and insulin secretion/sensitivity and that this may settle down with time. I would...

Hi there, Apologies for not clarifying this in my initial post! As @himtoo stated DW stands for Diabetics With as part of Diabetics With Eating Disorders and links to the website and charity of the same name www.dwed.org.uk. I shall be starting a FAQ thread soon with info as to various...

I'll start! I'm Claire and as well as a mod for the DWED forum I write content for the website including most of the featured blogs. I have struggled with an eating disorder for around 15 years, mainly anorexia, subtype 2 with aspects of insulin omission in the past. Currently, my condition is...
