HI Catherinecherub and thank you for your reply i have been investigated for sjogrens syndrome and it has been ruled out but i do have a lot of symptoms for it dry eyes dry nose and lots of joint pain , this is why i had the blood tests done but the only thing they come back with was high...

think im doing ok have started to follow low carb and portion control and have already lost 6lbs still a little bit overwhelmed by it all there is such a lot to take in, struggling to eat enough calories i think but starting to understand it all now but not on meds ...yet :wave:

About three years ago i was diagnosed as being borderline then a while later they called it pre diabetic when i asked what this meant the doctor said that i would most probably go on to develop full blown diabetes not once did he say "but if you change your diet and eat better you may aviod...

thanks geoff , yes totally overwhelmed at the moment so much to take in reading the low carb forums at the mo and thinking about buying a meter although my nurse has told me not too test but i have more faith in this site to be honest im sure ill get my head round it eventually :D
