    Always emotional and scared

Hi Ophelia Some great advice here. It really is about taking control of things, it may seem insurmountable at first but small steps lead to great changes eventually, you will get there. The roller coaster ride of your Blood Glucose going high then low will have such a negative effect on your...

Fast acting insulin that isnt fast

You are right Bleemster, it is what a lot of us find out about DAFNE, might look good on paper and it is good to have a guide , but you really need to test a lot to see how you react to foods. I mean they tell you that your Basal will cover you for a pure protein meal of say bacon and egg...

    Surgical wounds and blood sugars

Hi Get some Hibi -scrub to wash, optional but worth having in . Then get Iodine Tincture/Solution. It is one your Grandma probably used. It is used by surgeons to paint the skin before surgery and is the best for healing wounds IMO. Just paint it on ,do not cover, and it will deal with anything...

Mum of newly diagnosed type 1 (after very severe DKA)

forgot, another thing which may help, may be worth mentioning to your DSN or researching , is a continuous glucose monitor. I was attached to one given to me by my Diabetic team for a month, it was very enlightening and helpful. This would give you a good overview and negate the sore fingers.

    A nice little find!

Hi Etty The fat in the cream slows down the absorption of the coffee , so the caffeine does not seem to hit my blood stream quiet so quick and cause the adrenal response which in turn causes my BG to rise. I have tested this one out a nice slow rise. Also, it tastes nice. Also, I need all...
