Low blood sugar every morning after breakfast

Sinocare instructions say at a reading of 1.1 mmol, retest immediately and if the same, contact medical help. I would have thought at that number you would likely be in a coma. 1.1 mmol is the lowest the Sinocare displays before showing lo. One thought are you washing your hands and DRYING them...

Type 2 New here, advice please

Think of it as a sliding scale, the carbs you eat now put you on the scale at Hba1c at 48ish, eating fewer will move you down to a lower level. We are all different and your base number, where nothing else will work, it's where YOUR body wants to be, the maximum YOU can get down to will vary...

    Counting carbs

Most of the Keto forums, always worked on sub 50g a day to enter Ketosis, although many would find sub 20g a day was needed. Once in Ketosis and fat burning it was regarded that up to 75g a day would keep you going, although again some could go as far as 100g a day, some could only go to 50g...

Is it my imagination ... ?

I tend to find a rich deep red blob means a lower figure, a more watery looking blob for want of a better expression, tends to be higher.

Why is my bs high this morning

I Think rather than the liver getting it wrong, it just dumps some sugar, relying on the Insulin to regulate things, which we all know is our problem. But if we get things under control, our Insulin resistance improves a bit, so the regulation works a bit better. It's just a case of keep on...

    My hbac1 test results

That is a fantastic result. your Hba1c of 50 includes 1 month or so at 100+, 1 month at perhaps 75 and on down averaged out. Your next one will be 1 month at 50 and on down averaging a lot lower i would predict. Well done give yourself a big pat on the back

The problem with dietitians is what they advocate is better, but in the way being beaten 1/2 to death, is better than beaten to death ;)

    Counting Carbs Question

On the subject of artificial intelligence, everyone used to have total faith in computers, to give accurate answers as they could not be wrong. The expression to explain obvious mistakes was. s%^t in, s%^T out. If the original programmed data was wrong, the calculation would be right, but the...

Type 2 How to gain weight and are protein bars good/bad?

On the subject of Cholesterol, YOUR body regulates how much YOU need. The more you eat the less it produces itself. Statins work by stopping your body producing enough of it's own Cholesterol. Without Cholesterol there can be NO life. Many of the hormones and other things needed in the body are...

    How confusing

I agree all new diagnosis should be pointed here, BUT, the advice given here doesn't follow the NICE guidelines. So that's not going to happen, there are a few enlightened medical staff around, but the vast majority think they are gods, and the reason there way fails is we're to weak, and don't...

    Best times to take metformin

I take mine on getting up, first task is COFFEE, and last thing at night before going up to bed. I'm on slow release as normal was a bit too aggressive. But then i have several more things at the same time.

    Best times to take metformin

It's immaterial when you take it, if you suffer no side effects then forget taking with food. It is an accumulative drug, it's basically working in the background, not having any directly noticeable effect on anything but quietly doing it's job. So each dose is just topping up the level that has...

    Everything going wrong

I suffered with sleep Apnea, i snored very badly, i was not actually diagnosed, as on the night i was wired up to a fancy monitoring machine, i had the best nights sleep i'd had for years. I spent years sleeping with a Mandibular advancement device. (A fancy gum shield to keep your jaw pulled...

    Newbee

Contrary to what everyone has been told for years was a healthy diet, you now realise it WASN'T. People who are fat and not diabetic, are usually diabetics in waiting, granted some people are just fat! You must by now also have realised that this has been building up for years. Insulin...

    Exercise

Almost certainly, gentle exercise tends to lower levels, and more impactful exercise tends to, but not always cause liver dumps. Also you were only testing at about 1 hour, so your readings were essentially the same, that's a good result.

    Highish fasting reading?

Certainly looks that way. The lower you can go, the better.

Do any of you attend a group?

If you did low carb especially Keto, you would be dieing to be weighed, as your losses would knock everyone else into a cocked hat.
