That doesn’t explain why a type 2 with typically loads of insulin can keep on dumping and increasing for hours. We might be slow to deal with glucose but we do get there and do have insulin. Obviously being insulin resistant makes that process less efficient but that’s true all the time. The dumping should only occur when it’s needed (eg low bgl due to not eating for some time or exercise induced). It is not needed at higher than optimal levels (but the liver is conditioned to think higher is normal) nor after breakfast hence why I say it’s an issue with too much dumping more than inability to process what is dumped.I Think rather than the liver getting it wrong, it just dumps some sugar, relying on the Insulin to regulate things, which we all know is our problem.
But if we get things under control, our Insulin resistance improves a bit, so the regulation works a bit better. It's just a case of keep on doing the right things, eventually the system works better, and that figure will come down. Though EVERYONE has sugar dumps, it's just diabetes compromises the regulation.
