What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Nice piece of white fish with stir fried veg for lunch. Scrambles eggs, ham, mature cheddar (that one will put hairs on my chest) avocado and a few salad greens, followed by Greek yoghurt and berries for dinner. The jury is still out on avocado; I'm sure it's nutritious and has a place in a low...

Mrs M is 5.2 this morning. I'm very proud of her; she has overcome her fear of the blood test and positively embraced it as part of her life. The little kit goes everywhere with us and she is disappointed if she forgets to take a reading on time. She is determined to keep up this testing six...

The general consensus seems to be, test just before a meal, then test again two hours after a meal. If you don't test just before a meal you have no way of knowing how far you blood sugar has risen, you only know what it has risen to. This can be very useful information; lets say you are going...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Mrs M is still not entirely convinced about this low carb stuff, but I have managed to ween her off several roast potatoes down to one, from a full portion of rice down to just half or third of a portion. I've made her sandwiches with more filling and much less bread. But today I feel I may have...

Hi Julie, I'm new on here so don't know all the answers, but Mrs M's range is usually 4.9 to 5.6. I think the best way to test is just before a meal, then 2 hours after. The second reading should be no more than 2 higher in ideal circumstances. Mrs M is 5.1 this morning.

It wasn't me! She met with friends for coffee on Sunday and was advised that it was better to test voluntarily now with the full help of a supportive husband than be required to test, take meds, inject and see an irreversible decline in health! This mornings blood sugar 5.0

A few asking for low carb food lists....

Mrs M has asked me if Kiwi fruit is ok on a low carb diet, or is it too sugary despite the bitterness?
