One bit of good news. My bowel cancer screening came back negative : )

    all is not well

Thank you. Usually I would agree with you, but this is an actual physical issue of recovery from pneumonia, and not being able to breathe on my back or hold my breath - both needed for the scan. I hope they can do the scan in a different position.

    all is not well

I am due a CT scan tomorrow afternoon, but I don't think I can do it. I can't breathe on my back, I can't hold my breath for more than 5 seconds, and I am still coughing. The scan is my abdomen and pelvis. I will ring the unit for advice in the morning. This pneumonia and fatigue and...

    all is not well

I can't believe I was scared to post about what is going on, as I felt I was letting people down by not being able to support others. Thank you mods for letting me have this thread, even though it's not diabetes related.

    all is not well

I am sorry you have been through this. I didn't know Macmillan were there for those of us in limbo. I will check the link out, thank you. Keeping myself busy while still weak and tired from the pneumonia is a challenge. I will have a think about a simple project. This all came out of the blue 4...

    all is not well

I have been through a course of oral thrush meds, which cleared the antibiotic thrush up. This is a covid thing. I see my dentist on Tuesday (its all go) for a possible referral to a specialist about this. I am sorry you have been through this wait too. I think I could be handling it better if I...

    all is not well

I am seeing the doctor next Thursday and will mention support. I know there is support for those with cancer, so maybe there is support for those of us waiting to know. Hugs (if thats ok) for your situation and difficult path too.

    all is not well

thank you. I dont have family or a support network. Here, and another forum are my support network. I may offload here. I am quite isolated and full time carer for my autistic adult son, so I cant rant and rave here xxxx

    all is not well

I have been quiet for a while, as all is not well mentally and physically. At the beginning of October I got covid, then I got pneumonia, which I am still recovering from. It took two courses of antibiotics to stop the infection. On top of that, covid has left me with a very dry mouth, making...

What Powers does the Diabetic Nurse Have?

Not the test which they do annually. It's sealed and sent off to the labs for kidney function tests. A wee sample for ketones is done immediately by the nurse, using a dipstick.

What Powers does the Diabetic Nurse Have?

Good grief. The dn doesn't know how cholesterol is tested???? The wee test is kidney function. It's sent off to a lab. Unless she is dipping a testing stick in it, in which case it's for blood sugar levels.

    Salivary gland stone

I have talked to my GP and she felt around my jaw etc. They are giving me a thorough going over due to my repeat infections, thank goodness. She diagnosed the stone. I prefer to deal with it myself if possible. I recognize I may not be able to. If it doesn't clear she will refer me to ent. I...

    Severe anxiety and prediabetes

Swimming is exercise. It's a very good exercise. The resistance of the water makes it more strenuous than it seems.

Anyone had a salivary gland stone, and what home treatment worked? Please don't post anything scary.

I am losing the battle with my health.

I feel a bit better today. I am increasing my carbs slightly as my food choices are difficult with the salivary gland stone. One step at a time. I know, once I am better, I can drop my carbs down again. I am still under 90g a day. One battle at a time is all I can cope with just now. I go for...

Not a good couple of days.

Have Carers UK been any help to you? They are there for the one doing the caring, but also have knowledge and advice on when our lived ones need more support than we can give. Sending love.
