Problem with alarms on the tandem pump

Alarms!!!! Isn't it amazing the fuss people made about the government alarm on Sunday, all I can say is people should live with dexcom then they would find out what a loud alarm really is, my husband and daughter both remark ' large vehicle reversing ' when mine goes off!! I was also changing my...

    Tslim O rings

Hi Juicy Im not a Facebook user, this is as ' social media ' as I go! I wont fret about the time in range just wanted to use it to show it is having an impact on my usual control. I guess I'm just trying to work out if this is a pump issue or a problem as suggested to me with the cartridges. In...

    Tandem pump and dexcom CGM

Hi Mark I started using the Tandem pump mid December and lucky enough to also get the dexcom 6 funded, so new to the system after 16 yrs on Roche pumps. I was on libre with my last pump. I have no regrets whatsoever moving onto this combination, I absolutely love it. Filling the cartridge is...

Final day for comments on NICE Hybrid Closed Loop consultation.

Thank you. I've just done it despite being lucky enough to have got funded before Christmas. The proposed criteria is so wrong and I've told them so. Nobody can complain about it if they don't speak up for themselves!

    Insulin resistance

Yes, nearly always! I call it " black week " and I can actually use it to know my monthly will start as it's usually 7 days before. During the first week I usually have " golden week " when I'm my most insulin sensitive. None of this i picked up before I had my libre, bloody hormones!!!

    Self control in hospital

I get where you are coming from re overdosing but there is no way that would have happened as reading through his notes the one and only time he was given a correction dose was when I asked them too when I first arrived and told he couldn't go out as sugars were 33, only happened then as I asked...

They managed to break his pen first night he was in so Mum let them have his spares or that is exactly what we would have done! Self control in hospital

The nurses told me when I questioned that he was given treacle pudding at all that tye NHS no longer have a diabetic menu and that all patients are given a ' healthy menu' and they believe a diabetic patient would just say 'no thank you' to things like treacle pudding, hence the comment from the...

    Self control in hospital

He chose to eat the pudding himself!!! I know, not a wise move!! Trouble is on his usual 40 units he may have got away with it but not on 10units and sugar levels of 23 before lunch, I doubt v much the nurses even told him it was 23 and with a type 2 nurse on duty makes it even more shocking...
