Medium-Chain Fatty Acids Improve Cognitive Function in Intensively Treated Type 1 Diabetic Patients

Adding MCT oil to my LCHF diet seems like a no-brainer!! (pun intended)

    Freestyle libre iPhone app

Turns out that the sensors are geo locked. I have a UK App Store profile, and downloaded the app, but my sensors are Australian - no go. I’m a bit disappointed. I’ve looked at buying sensors on eBay from the UK, but it’s even more pricey. Just have to find my patience pants. I suppose.

    Lancets, cats and stupid

I’m just posting so I get notified when the morning update arrives. I’m blind, so don’t need any pets to lose things like needle caps, lancets, strips, whole insulin pens... haha I hope morning you appreciates bedtime you efforts.

    Type 1 Very thankful

Happy Birthday for Monday. It’s great that you’re feeling better and getting a handle on managing yourself. I learnt about DP here too! Good luck for your next trip around the sun.

Hi all, new type 1 checking in!

Welcome to the forum! I echo everyone’s sentiments about finding what’s right for you. And being open to change because what you think is brilliant for you today could be completely different next month. It sounds obvious, but this is 24/7, and what you might perceive as “mistakes” are just...

    46 mg/dl

Yes, but gee I love the Libre!!! “Warm and snuggly” is definitely a barrier to rational diabetes management! I’m only on sensor 4, but with the new found control I’ve moved my hypo symptoms from 3.9 sweats to barely a thing at 2.5!! Which is both good and a little scary.

    46 mg/dl

I had my own experience of this in the early morning today. I’ve become a little too complacent that the Libre will read low, so got a 2.9 and wasn’t concerned, no symptoms, back to sleep. Not too long after I woke up feeling it and got the “Lo” scan.... better check..... “Lo” blood result...

    Sharing encouraging news!

Great job! I can’t believe people are advised not to test, how can that possibly be a responsible stance from a qualified doctor? Here in Australia they’ve also put limits and price increases on strips for T2!!! How do they expect people to take care of themselves? Anyway, great to hear you’ve...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I’ve been waiting eagerly to post here, finally getting results today. 7.2% I’ve not been a “good” T1 and haven’t had a test since 2016. With my new found love of LCHF and Libre, I’m energised. Before getting too far in I wanted to get the blood work done. Now the result isn’t brilliant but...

    Antidepressants

Hi Sharryn, Sorry to hear you’re having a tough time - I’ve been there but only got 10 years into T1 before it all got too much with a range of other things. Antidepressants have well documented history these days and I’m sure with the guidance on starting/stopping them that you’ve been...

    Freestyle libre iPhone app

Sooo excited and soooo disappointed all at the same time. Can’t wait for iOS - I just hope the Australian App Store gets it soon. [emoji848]

The road is long, but at least I'm on it!

Hi Forum, I wasn't sure where to post for the first time, but here we go. I really want to start by thanking the forum and all of it's participants. I came across it while researching the Freestyle Libre. I'm 35yo T1 for 15 years living in Austrlaia, and before the Libre and this forum, have...
