    Using Fiasp for Corrections Only

I've been using Fiasp for about 6 months now on MDI and only ha e to bolus 5mins in advance of food. If under 6 mmol then don't do it until after and don't see a post dinner BG spike. For corrections I don't seem to find it quite as instantaneous and often have to use more than I would for NR...

    Stop cancelling my insulin!!!

This is disgraceful behaviour from your gp surgery. I would be tempted to report them to the general medical Council. Essentially they are saying unless you attend a medical review we are going to kill you! This isn't blackmail it is holding your life to ransom! I don't think people appreciate...

    Pump choice

Hi @steveo4. I've just been approved for omnipod in Scotland. Initially they told me I had to either go for ypsomed or medtronic. After discussing with the senior diabetes nurse and showing that I had properly researched the options she set me up with a meeting with the Omnipod rep. After some...

Experience on combo bolus with Fiasp

Generally anything over 100g carbs. Certainly where there is a lot of fat and stuff that takes longer to digest. I had a fillet steak the other day and it took all night for the carbs to release from the chips that accompanied it!

Hi @HaydenB hope you dont mind me asking you the question but I've just been approved for a pump and the Ypsopump is one of the options. From what I can see from the playstore there is no option to remote bolus from the app. It looks like they are developing this for a future app. Can you...

Changing to FIASP, where to go?

My diabetic nurse recommended it to me about 3 months ago. I trialled it for a month and then she wrote to the doctor to add it to my repeat prescription. It is slightly better than novorapid and I would say kicks in about 5-10 mins earlier. It means I have less of a problem injecting post meal...

    Managing exercise and insulin

Hi @James_Donnelly . I do a lot of exercise and over time have developed some simple rules that I try and live by. I also suffered quite a lot with rapidly dropping BG but this is an inevitable part of diabetes and exercise. There are some things you can do to improve it however. Time of day is...

    Pumps And Mountain Biking

Thanks for all the help guys. It's really good to know that people do rough sports and don't have any issues with the pump. I guess it's about getting the right belt and equipment to ensure it stays where you want it too. @Mel dCP thanks for the insurance info. Just checked the policy and...

Mad cyclist with possible type 1

Hi @Theblarney . I've also just joined the forum and am a keen mountain biker. I wouldn't let type 1 worry you about being able to continue mountain biking. I've been diabetic for 27 years and have have raced mountain bikes for the last 5. I wouldn't lie to say that it is easy but you find your...

    Pumps And Mountain Biking

Hi folks I'm a newbie to this forum. I've been diabetic for 28 years and am currently managing on split Levemir and Fiasp. I'm a keen mountain biker and am now pretty used to managing my sugars during exercise by reducing basal slightly, leaving a good gap after bolus and also carb loading. Its...
