    Recipe question for Cat

Love it! Here's one I ate earlier. (I'm not telling you how I stuffed it).

    Why this obsession with fat?

    Stomach Pains

I believe the gospel as preached on here - the fewer carbs you eat with your meals the better (? surley ?) I'm coeliac and if I eat gluten (found in grains such as wheat) at all I get excruciating stomach ache and diahorrea, so apart from potatoes which I love, I find it quite easy to give up...

    Recipe question for Cat

Somewhere on here, I seem to remember you suggesting a recipe used by your Mum for Topside with frankfurts stuffed inside. This sounds delicious and I'd like to try it. How did she do this?

    30 day meal plan question

Where is the low carb meal plan? I'd like to find a list of suggestions because, you see, I think I'm eating too many calories because of all the fat I add to veg, and the cream I add to coffee.

Type 2 Why did a Hospital Doctor try to start me on Lipitor?

Someone told me that doctors get a bonus for every patient they get onto statins. I don't know if its true or not, but when I refused he got quite cross and more or less told me not to blame him when I died of a heart attack or stroke. I don't see that doctor any more.

Has anyone had poorer carb control while on a low carb diet?

You say you're bordering pre diabetic so things aren't critical for you. The rest will follow and your present regime will indeed be giving your pancreas a rest which you say is your goal. From what I understand, just losing weight on its own will achieve this as well as going a long way to...

    So this happened...

Have you tried the Lyndt dark chocolate with chilli? (reminder to self - try it with cream) i wonder if you could grate it up and add to whipped cream and freeze as ice cream? Will let you know.

Has anyone had poorer carb control while on a low carb diet?

Thats interesting Brunneria. PNJB - I have a problem with greens and also mushrooms and cauli - I just HATE them (and they give me smelly wind). I do like lettuce with salt which I used to eat in sandwiches, but can enjoy on its own now. But I think I'd be hungry on your diet! Do you eat...

Has anyone had poorer carb control while on a low carb diet?

Is it really no hardship for you? I find myself really craving carbs, breads especially, almost drooling over the memory! And I'm coeliac as well, so even the bread available to me is disgusting - but it doesn't stop the craving!

    Easy casseroles

I've looked on Amazon Cat and they seem to cost from £69 upwards, but the website is confusing, as they're all mixed up with stove-top P Cookers. My Mum used to swear by her's, but I can't say I was ever enthusiastic about the flavours of her stews and casseroles.

    fattest meat

PS I didn't mean to sound harsh - you are to be congratulated on the efforts you are making to cook healthy meals. Delia is also a useful source ...... you have to adapt some recipies to exclude the carbohydrate. Google Delia Smith.

    fattest meat

.That multi cooker from Lakeland looks just the ticket AndBreathe, but even reduced to £49 its a bit expensive unless you're sure you're going to use it. I think Ladybird has a point - just what exactly are you looking for Greener? Any why all this obsession with fat? There are all these...

    Easy casseroles

Casseroles and stir-frys are opposite ends of the spectrum.

    Easy casseroles

Hmm. I agree its very confusing Ladybird, ..... hole in his bucket, maybe! How old are you Greener? Do you live at home or in digs (student accommodation perhaps?)

Hi, my name is Jennifer -- new here

Wow, the LCHF diet has really worked wonders for you - well done! I came on here knowing nothing, and had been thoroughly brainwashed into believing the 'healthy plate' was the only way to go. Now I know better and feel liberated and in charge of my life again. I was very concerned about...

    Easy casseroles

In your original post you say - 'if I am to be out all day and unable to be around,' - not that you are deciding what to eat only half an hour beforehand. Stews and casseroles need long slow cooking. You should be looking at stir-frys and microwaves and such for a quick meal. Your slow cooker...

    Easy casseroles

I use mine all the time in the cooler months, its a life saver because I have a husband who runs his own business and is never on time for meals. I throw the stuff in, add a little liquid (very little) and a knorr stock cube - and 6 hrs later its cooked. It doesn't matter if he's 2hrs late I...

    how can I have fish?

I realise now that you are using (what I call) the American description of the word 'grill' which has two heated plates which actually make contact with the fish - so its understandable that the top plate would be heavy. I think the whole idea of these things is to reduce the amount of fat you...

    how can I have fish?

What do you mean when you say you 'only' have a grill? I assume you have a kettle, but are you telling me you have no way of cooking veg? so do you eat it raw? How would you heat up, or make, soup? How do you cook eggs? If you have a burner, (or a camping stove) you can fry using a heavy...
