    confused

Hi you don't say what you had eaten which could be why you have the high reading. It is recommended that we test 2 hours after eating and that your BS should be no higher then 8.5 if you had a high carb meal then to test again an hour later (3 hours after) as carbs like pasta are slow release...

You should be given an appointment with a Diabetis Nurse and hopefully she will give you a meter and testing strips etc but due to cuts policy has changed and they are stopping...

    Diabetes and Weightloss Surgery

I don't want you to get depressed and down but diabetics cannot be cured its a life long effect (unless scientist can come up with something). I assume that you are now eating correctly to keep your blood sugar down and hopefully to loose weight. Some diabetic's do controll their BS via diet...

What type of metformin did you have - the slow release is the better type to get on with and will aid weight loss. You can get a slight headache and stomach pains to begin with but this is short lived and gradually you adjust. Hope this helps Sue :D

    Metformin doseage

I agree keep taking the metformin and continue with your diet it will also help your cholestral to lower. My own personal view with satins is that they do effect the muscles and your heart is a muscle. I personally wont take them as I don't think personnally that they are as good as they say...
