    Too much levemir

Don't take this the wrong way but didn't your son think to mention he'd already had his levemir? At the age of 13 he maybe he should start taking some responsibility in managing his own diabetes?

I'm confused about what to do when I'm on the beer, Inject ? don't inject?

I don't drink beer but I do drink cider especially at either music festivals or watching rugby. At the rugby when I'm stationary I bolus a unit for each one, at festival, especially if lots of walking or dancing involved I bolus for the ones earlier in the day but not later (when my judgement...

Two set failures (Vibe Inset II)

Have you tried manually inserting the cannula? You may get more feedback about whether it has gone in well or not as you'll be able to feel the resistance as you push it in. (eda: I have no idea about animas cannula as on medtronic but t is possible to manually insert medtronic quick-sets)

    Exercise with pump

I was taught that if you are consistently going hypo at, say, 3pm then you have to adjust basal rates 2 hours before then to cover that time therefore reducing basal rates 2 hours before exercise will reduce the risk of hypo during. If you took your pump off during exercise you would be getting...

    Minimed pump supply cost UK

Funding is not automatic and you would have to apply and be accepted which cold well take longer than a month, if they are less than £10 in Oz then it'll probably be well worth getting a few boxes posted

    Diabetic Meet up/coffee/drinks

That date is good for me, as for location I'm happy to go with wherever as long as it's not too busy or I'll have no chance of spotting the right group of random strangers!!

    Exercise with pump

I reduce my basal rates to 50% 2 hours before exercise which normally does the trick, If I still had a lot of active insulin on board from a previous meal then I would have a small snack with no bolus. I think it's a trial and error thing, you'll find out whats right for you

    "Out of stock"

A T1 is worth a lot of money to a pharmacy, they should be bending over backwards for your business, if not then if you can take your business elsewhere. A good relationship with your pharmacist is worth its weight in gold when you fluff up and find yourself unexpectedly short of key supplies...

Avocados - unclear on carb content

I think in the UK nutritional info is carbs excluding fibre as fibre is listed separately, American sites however you need to subtract the fibre yourself which is why you can get 2 completely different carb counts for the same item

Is it my site or dose?

Thats quite a high dose of levemir, what are your carb ratios for your quick acting? Assuming you are not actually going low overnight it could be that you are becoming a bit insulin resistant in which case a trip to your diabetes clinic will be in order

    Pregabalin & lyrica update

The drugs are the same. There is no difference except the packaging and the price

    Pregabalin & lyrica update

This is all to do with the fact Pfizer owns a secondary uses patent on pregabalin so the changing of the prescription to Lyrica is one that is completely non-clinical and all about making the rich pharma companies richer and charging the NHS more. It makes me sick. eta: the article in the...

    Where to wear your pump

Your boobs are your friends in this situation! You can hang a pump of the middle of your bra or tuck it into a cup or between them. Depending on how much cleavage you have depends on the success of each positioning
