    Two bundles of joy.

My Mum reckons the best thing about being a gran is giving them back when they start to smell or play up!

    Benefits after 18yrs

Can I ask what your circumstances are? I mean do you live with family etc. The rules for DLA for a child differ to those for an adult. In the eyes of the benefit system you are now an adult. If you are available for and actively seeking work you could sign for JSA. You could apply for DLA as...

    Mark on my foot

As others have said, go to the dr. Hopefully it is nothing to worry about. But as my gran used to say "a stitch in time saves nine". It might be an easy fix if done now, but if left could get worse.

    Disposing of Lancets?

I suppose I could do better. I thought in putting the cap back on I was doing my best but I could do more. Point taken.

    Disposing of Lancets?

Thanks, will give them a ring. What about used test strips, should they be treated as clinical waste or are they ok in the bin?

    Disposing of Lancets?

I don't have a sharps bin. I do usually shove said lancet in something when wrapped! Afraid test strips just go in the bin as they are on the basis that they are not sharp! I have located an old coffee jar which I will put said lancet in... Will take ne ages to fill it and will ponder on what...

vibrating watch to help with toilet use!

My son is 3 so a bit younger, but my tuppence worth anyway. Could she be so wrapped up in what she is doing that she forgets untill it is urgent then either be too embaressed to ask for help. I know my son has accidents if he is poorly (she could be feeling off because of the t1) or because he...

How can 950 Calories for a meal be 'Low carb'?

Am I not right in thinking gram for gram there are more calories in fat than protien or carbs'?

How can 950 Calories for a meal be 'Low carb'?

Am no expert, but it could well be the fat content. If there are a lot of pecans in the base that would possibly explain the calorie count.

    Diabetic Skin Care

I was told by a chiropodist the best foot cream is a pot of plain old aqeous cream with a few drops of both tea tree (anti bacterial) and lavender (relaxing) essential oils in it. I have been using this for years now. Really cheap, smells nice and does a good job. Use moisturising socks with it...

    Doctors and that £75000 bonus

I googled, it only relates to consultants not GP's. Just because a GP does the odd clinic at a hospital it does not make them a consultant.

    Doctors and that £75000 bonus

I am not a Dr.. But they did train for many many years to be one, and they deserve to be well paid for their training and knowledge, I don't know the truth behind the headlines re GP salary, if it is as the tabloids say then it is too much. But it is still a fact that they train hard for many...

Diabetes and Pregnancy test postive- any views?

I have not got any experiance of your situation but wondered if the stomach injections are insulin? Perhaps it is worth directly asking if they have had the preg results back again? Good luck to you both.

    help on this

I agree with Sid Bonkers... Regardless of semantics diabetes needs to be taken seriously and controlled. If well controlled complications can be avoided. How you establish that control is what you need to think about. As my GP said "you CAN make a difference"
